Silverfish was an alternative/noise rock band from England that first formed in 1987. The group had a strong underground following for their intense, confrontational sound and for the erratic feminist lyrics of vocalist Lesley Rankine. After releasing three singles, five EP's and two albums, Silverfish ended up disbanding in 1994, after seven years of activity. Rankine notably went on to have a modestly successful solo career, and was active in the Ruby project and the Pigface supergroup.
