orn from a group of friend’s love for music Sourblood came into the Columbus, Ohio mix in early 2005. After years of hard work, dedication, and reformation, Sourblood is still poised and ready to kick ass and take names. Sourblood is a dynamic and explosive live band that carries high energy through to their recordings. The band has put out two EPs in the past but 2010’s self-titled has been the hardest-hitting recording yet. “We feel the new direction is extremely diverse compared to anything we have done in the past and it’s different than most that is out now,” says Justin Bloomfield who handles vocal duties. With the newer, heavier, and sometimes melodic sound, Sourblood has found their niche and are ready to let the world see just what they can do, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to do just that. The release of the new record on October 1st 2010 at the AlRosa Villa in Columbus,Ohio marked the beginning of what Sourblood hopes to turn into a nationwide tour in the next year or two. “Our goal for the rest of this year and all of next year is to play out as much as we possibly can in support of this new EP and to grow our fan base outside of the Midwest,” comments Bloomfield . After establishing a fan base stateside, they hope to jump across the pond to make themselves known in the international markets. The amazing live performance that Sourblood brings with them to the stage every time they play only fuels the fire that continues to spread. The energy produced by the five together on stage is real, raw, and adds even more life and intensity to the music they play. It is this energy that draws fans in and makes them believers in the wrecking machine that is Sourblood. Sourblood has graced the stage in venues like the Newport Music Hall , Peabody’s, Al Rosa Villa, The Basement, and many more. They have had the honor of sharing the stage not only with many friends but with national bands such as Emmure, Bless the Fall, Soulfly, Bury Your Dead, Chimaira, Dope, Mushroomhead, Kittie, Flaw, 36 Crazyfists, In This Moment, Straight Line Stitch, Divine Heresy, The Autumn Offering, As Blood Runs Black, and many, many more. Many of the fans who come to see these national acts have left as fans of Sourblood. However, it’s not just the fans that have taken notice to the progressions made by the band. Sourblood has also been in the studio as guests promoting their music on the Columbus , Ohio radio station 99.7 The Blitz. The band is: Justin Bloomfield aka Bloomy on vocals and Brock Richards on guitar. « hide
