State of Play

State of Play was a short lived British new wave supergroup. It consists of members from Eurythmics, Toni Halliday and Dean Garcia. Originallythought to be the next commercial superstars, Virgin Records supposedly fueled the project with tons of money in hopes of its breakthrough. StayofPlay thenwent on to release a few singles and one album, 1986's "Balancing the Scales", but the huge push from the Virgin label failed, and StateofPlay endedup going over a thousand dollars in debt. This led to the group disbanding in 1987, and both Holliday and Garcia soon went on to formthecriticallyacclaimed project Curve.
