Toi Jackson, better known as Sweet Tee, is a rapper from NYC. She is notably one of the first female emcees, alongside Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte and Monie Love. In 1988, Sweet Tee released her first album “It's Tee Time”, which, despite receiving positive reviews, had lackluster sales commercially, and she then disappeared from the rap scene by 1991.
In 1994, she returned as a guest rapper on a single by electronica duo Tin Tin Out, and would also go on to release several singles throughout 1995 and 1996 as Suga, and also appeared on a single by the popular rap group Lost Boyz in 1997, ...read more

Despite her efforts though, her popularity seemed to stall, and she then seemingly returned to her retirement by 2000. In 2010, Jackson made another return to the rap scene under her original name of Sweet Tee, and she continues to sporadically release singles today, with another album supposedly in the works. « hide |
