Syren was a female alternative rock group from the UK. It was founded in 2007 by bassist Amanda Smith-Skinner and drummer
Joanne 'Jo' Heeley (formally of the controversial rock group Rockbitch) as a side project while they were in MT-TV with vocalist
Erin Bennett. Unlike the gothy sound of Rockbitch and MT-TV, Syren represents a much lighter, alternative-centred sound,
which can be compared to Smith-Skinner's earlier group Red Abyss. In 2012, Heeley ended up passing away at the age of 39

months of silence, Bennett resurrected Syren with a completely different lineup, although this edition of Syren would only exist
