The Blue Hearts were a Japanese punk/alternative band, active from 1985 until 1995. They are considered to be one of the most important and influential bands in Japanese rock history. Frontman Hiroto Kohmoto (甲本ヒロト) and guitarist Masatoshi Mashima (真島昌利), the main songwriters in the group, would go on to continue their partnership in the bands The High-Lows and The Cro-Magnons.
