The Devil Sent Me Back is a 5 piece metalcore band that hails from the town of Grahamstown, South Africa.They formed in early 2011 with the intention of playing the heavy-yet-melodic music they love, and the desire to inject some "mosh" into the town.
One of the few South African metalcore acts in a scene dominated by death metal, their music is characterised by heavy, yet upbeat breakdowns, mel
odic guitar lines, and snarling vocals, influenced by the numerous metalcore, hardcore and deathcore acts of the modern metal era.

In December 2011, their 'Would You Like Some Napalm With That?' tour took them to Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban, playing shows alongside fellow metal bands Banquet of Traitors, Arkham’s Finest, We Seek Vengeance, Conclave, and We Were Archers. 2012 has seen The Devil Sent Me Back playing and forming good ties with Bringing a Shark to a Gunfight, The Dead Will Tell, Truth and Its Burden, Poverty of Ideals, Reign of Terror, The Gentlemen Callers, Shackles and Bones, Facing the Gallows, Show and Tell and Banquet of Traitors, some of SA’s finest metal and punk acts.
August 2012 saw the release of their first EP entitled 'Animals' which so far has received positive feedback and reviews. « hide |
