The Great Airport Mystery began in a basement in the unassuming town of Ramsey, New Jersey. United in ideals and matched
in musical prowess; Ryan Gilpatrick and John Kennedy started bringing their shared visions to life in 2009 by forming The Great
Airport Mystery.
The duo went on to release two EP’s before releasing their debut album, The Great Spaceport Mystery, in 2013 to an ever-
growing fan-base. Telling an unprecedented, futuristic tale of space exploration, the album explored concepts ranging from
the mysteries of life and the origins of humanity, to what it means to be human in the distant future. The album was praised
for its progressive songwriting, compelling narrative, and heavy, yet atmospheric, sound. With the album being completely
produced and recorded by the band itself, the outpouring of support the album received inspired them more than ever to turn
their shared dream into reality.
2014 ushered in a new era for The Great Airport Mystery, as they made the transition to a full band. Adding Jon Ingis
(Rhythm Guitar), Brian Heitman (Bass), and Mike Guevarez (Drums) allowed Ryan (Vocals) and John (Lead Guitar) to focus
solely on their native instruments, and brought the opportunity to bring their music to a live stage as it was truly meant to be
played.
You can currently find The Great Airport Mystery putting the finishing touches on their upcoming EP, "VOYAGER"—an
expansion to their debut album with their full line-up, adding a whole new dimension to TGAM’s space metal sound. Set for
release in February 2015, there’s no doubt that the inspiration they’re finding now as a full band will continue to fuel them as
The Great Airport Mystery launches into 2015 and beyond. « hide |
