The Jaguars were a rock-n-roll group from Japan. Originally active from 1964 until 1971, they were one of the leading bands in
the "group sounds" genre in Japan, which spearheaded in popularity from the mid 60's through the end of the decade. Aside from
The Spiders, The Jaguars were one of the first original bands formed in the history of group sounds. Although they originally split
in 1971, they reunited temporarily starting in 1981, but eventually split for good in 2009 after the death of one of the group's
guitarists, Shin Okamoto.
