The Legendary Tigerman, musician Paulo Furtado's stage name, is a Portuguese musician. Furtado is a very accomplished Portuguese musician, credited as one of few Portuguese artists to have toured in U.S. He plays mostly blues-driven music in a one-man band style, as he sings, plays guitar, harmonica and drums on stage and on studio. Furtado is a very accomplished Portuguese musician, credited as one of few Portuguese artists to have toured in U.S. He plays mostly blues-driven music in a one-man band style, as he sings, plays guitar, harmonica and drums on stage and on studio. Besides his work as The Legendary Tigerman, Furtado serves as lead vocalist and primary songwriter for Portuguese rock band WrayGunn, and formerly played on a Portuguese rockabilly group called Tedio Boys.Paulo Furtado was born in Mozambique, having moved to Coimbra, Portugal, when he was only age one. He dropped out of college, in order for him to pursue his affection for music. Furtado's musical career began in late 1980's, forming a rockabilly and psychedelic Portuguese group called Tedio Boys, in which he played lead guitar and was a main songwriter. Having released 3 studio albums, Tedio Boys embarked on a U.S. tour. In 1999, Tedio Boys disbanded, and Paulo Furtado went on to form a Coimbra-based blues rock band, WrayGunn, in which he plays lead guitar and occasionally sings, alongside Raquel Ralha.In 2002, Furtado began his solo career, under his stage name The Legendary Tigerman. His first solo album, Naked Blues, was released in that same year, under Subotnick Enterprises label. Under that same label, he released his second solo album, titled Fuck Christmas, I Got The Blues, in 2003, and a remix compilation titled In Cold Blood in 2004. Switching to Rastilho Records, Tigerman produced and released Masquerade in 2006, which won him critical acclaim. In 2009, he embarked on his second U.S. tour.
