The Mclovins

With a solid musical foundation, The McLovins are able to expand and improvise almost effortlessly, allowing for a very distinctive sound and feel to their own compositions, as well as fresh takes on classics. Performing live, they are able to draw from a diverse palette of influences, jazz and funk to rock and soul. Jake’s slick execution and speed changes on drums drive the music leaving Jason with ample room to expand and explore on bass. This solid rhythm duo is complimented by Jeffrey’s relentless lead guitar cascading and building the intensity, casting a spell on listeners. The chemistry between these 15 and 16 year olds is electrifying. After playing together only a few months, they had compiled a repertoire of covers and began playing live. Through continued postings on Youtube (drummercl channel) and their cover of Phish’s epic You Enjoy Myself, they expanded their fan base through Phantasy Tour. While appearing at New York City’s Sullivan Hall, they garnered the attention of Rolling Stone magazine, which asked them in for an interview and to record for the Smoking Section spot on the magazine’s website. More regional appearances followed at Hartford venues and appearances as the house band on WFSB television’s Better Connecticut and live broadcasts on WPKN and WBCR. Also at Clear Channel's studio in the Candy Cane Building. The band performed on the Green Vibes Stage to a tent full of screaming fans at this year’s Gathering of the Vibes Festival in Bridgeport, CT. The band recently returned to perform for old and new fans at Revolution Hall in Troy, NY. The McLovins hosted Phish Pre-shows at Hartford (Sully’s Pub) and Saratoga (Putnam Den). The Band returns to New York City’s Sullivan Hall on Saturday, September 26th at 9:30 - 10:30, and DEBUTS AS THE HEADLINER IN BOSTON on SATURDAY OCTOBER 3, 2009 at Berklee's all ages club CAFE 939. « hide
