Originally signed to Kill Rock Stars, The Need rose to prominence with the emerging Riot Grrrl and Queercore scene of the late-'90s. Formed by Radio Sloan and Rachel Carns, The Need played an unsettling form of post-punk influenced by Suicide and Wire among others. The Need disbanded in 2001; they reunited in 2013 to release Resurrection.
