Tokyo Skunx (officially stylized as TOK¥O $KUNX) was an influential psychobilly band from Japan that originally formed in 1986. The group are widely
thought of to have created the underground subgenre of rustic punk, which takes the main influence of psychobilly and blends in multiple elements of
ska, cowpunk and folk punk. In 2002, after nearly two decades of activity, Tokyo Skunx officially disbanded, although they are known to have
occasional reunion shows.
