Wardenclyffe originates from Norrköping, Sweden.
The band was formed in 2011. Jacob Nordangård (previously with Captor and The Doomsday Cult) had been discussing an idea for a new project
with the former band colleague from The Doomsday Cult, Ola Blomkvist, for some time. Ola said he had some material he couldn’t use in his
band Griftegård. They decided to join forces. The drummer Micael Zetterberg (Terrorama) was invited to complete the first line up. He had the
knowledge and commitment that was needed. The rehearsals started autumn 2011.

The name Wardenclyffe came from the Serbian inventor and genius Nikola Tesla’s experimental facility in New York. The name was connected to
the general thematic approach (science history, transhumanism, cybernetics, and occultism).
In the summer of 2012 Jacob got an idea. He was about to defend his doctoral thesis (Ordo Ab Chao – The Political History of Biofuels in the
European Union) and decided to include a recording by Wardenclyffe. Irish artist Elaine Ni Cuana was hired to do the cover for the double release.
It was probably the first doctoral thesis in the world with a doom metal cover.
The recording was done in the studio Sound Lab with Marcus Lundberg two weeks before the dissertation. Thomas Sabbathi from Year of the
Goat contributed with some great additional guitar work (including the brilliant intro).
The promo/soundtrack received a lot of praise. German magazine Rock Hard elected it the demo of the month in July 2013.
Wardenclyffe entered Studio Underjord in July 2014 for the recording of “Control All Delete”. Joona Hassinen did an amazing job to make the
visions come true. In August 2014 a deal was signed with German Ván Records. The album was released in the beginning of 2015.
Now a new glorious chapter is waiting to be written. Solo guitarist Robert Karlsson (Misericordia) is the latest addition to the band. In the
summer 2015 work on the follow up record “Temple of Solomon” will start…
