Wreckx-N-Effect are a hip hop group from NYC. First formed in 1987, the group eventually broke international superstardom with their 1992 single “Rump Shaker”, which was controversial at the time of its release due to its highly sexual lyrics and even-more explicit music video. Further success for the group ceased by 1994, however, and Wreckx-N-Effect then disbanded in 1997. In 2014, after nearly two decades apart, Wreckx-N-Effect reunited, and have since played numerous concerts, mostly as a part of a throwback hip hop festivals around the country.
