05.28.12 | 6 rules! I haven't heard the rest. |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | @Greg: Fuck yeah it does. I could possibly see you digging 3 and 4.
"I think at some point i've heard 3 and 4, but i've completely forgotten them"
You should listen to them again then, they rule. 4 in particular. |
MO
05.28.12 | fuck yes 3 |
Jethro42
05.28.12 | 1 and 6 are great. Dunno about the rest. I for myself am jamming on Solaris - Nostradamus, Book of Prophecies. A modern prog band influenced by the prog monsters of the 70s. It's my brand new 5/5 rating. Also if you like Marillion, try Arena - Contagion. P/ |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | Thanks for the recs Jethro, I'll check those out. I think you might dig 4, the title track is a four part psychedelic/prog epic. |

05.28.12 | I just noticed you didnt rate any Black Keys yet. I'm surprised about it. |
greg84
05.28.12 | I've been listening to a lot of circus metal lately. This stuff is a helluva lot of fun! |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | @Jethro: I do like the Black Keys but to be honest there's a lot of other blues rock bands I'd rather lsiten to and when it comes to modern blues (rock) I'd rather listen to artists like Joe Bonamassa. They do have some great stuff though. |
Jethro42
05.28.12 | Circus metal? Is that a new genre? Some metal a la mr Bungle? |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | Any examples Greg? |
greg84
05.28.12 | Akphaezya, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Dog Fashion Disco, early Mushroomhead etc. |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | Thanks. Diablo Swing Orchestra are already on my list of bands to check out, I wasn't aware they came under the term 'circus metal' though. |
greg84
05.28.12 | They boasts some circus metal elements for sure. Ridiculous music... They even invited Gremlins to contribute on one track. |
Eclecticist
05.28.12 | 3 and 5 rule |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | @Captain: No problem man, your EP rules. And I can see you digging most of these. |
Jethro42
05.28.12 | Gotcha about The Black Keys, JT.
Gotcha about ''metal circus'', Greg. I guess Polkadot Cadaver are also i that category.
@Captain; Wait, do you play music professionally? If yes, what's your artist name? |
Jethro42
05.28.12 | *in that category |
greg84
05.28.12 | Yeah. Polkadot Cadaver have some elements of this style too, I guess. |
Jethro42
05.28.12 | I see, Captain. I see that Crevice - In Between have some good support within Sputnik. Keep the good work up man. Your EP is added to my to listen to list. Do you have a good link or something? |

Do you like it ? |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | @ Notrap: Ah I believe Hans rec'd me that High Spirits album a while ago but I only listened to 1 or 2 songs and despite the fact I really enjoyed them I never got around to checking out the rest of the album. I will make sure I do this time. Thanks Notrap. |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | @rock: Thanks man. Yeah I dig quite a lot of psychedelic rock, particularly that with a strong blues influence. Although I do also like more prog related psych like Gong and early Floyd. |
rockandmetaljunkie
05.28.12 | I also love love psychedelia only if it's heavy stuff or guitar driven.
Heavy Psych is one of my favorite Rock genres.
"particularly that with a strong blues influence"
Then you must check out Spirit. Great band. |
JamieTwort
05.28.12 | I'll definitely check out Spirit, thanks dude. |
