Extended Range Guitars

Great albums with great use of 7 or 8 string guitars
1The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza
Danza III: The Series of Unfortunate Events

I could write a 2000 word essay on the reasons I love Josh Travis' playing.
2Car Bomb
Centralia

Insane, wacky guitar playing. Extreme tempo shifts and completely unconventional use
of rhythm. Imagine Meshuggah combined with Dillinger, but without the steady tempo
3Meshuggah
Nothing

The album that pretty much started all of this 8 string nonsense we have today. Genius
riffage.
4Fellsilent
The Hidden Words

Great riffs. Nothing mind blowing or technical, but the grooves are so raw and immense, and
the album is so consistently good from start to finish.

Sorry to be one of those guys, but I might as well give it a crack. Check out my band! Haha. We
are a 3 piece, and I play drums. [Disclaimer: No I am not claiming that we are as good as the
bands above!] Our guitarist Sam recently purchased an 8 string guitar. This is a chuggy new
instrumental piece that we jammed out just recently. It's not 100% yet, but the main idea is
there.
