09.26.12 | Damn you have a WET? That's pretty sweet. Why two delays though? Just curious. |
liledman
09.26.12 | Two delays is the best move. One normal, one longer or reverse. Love it.
I've got the Boss Rc-3, not bad because you can loop a shitload, and it has 99 patches, easy enough to use. It is really noisy though, and I noticed that with a DD-3 and a Boss ME-50 going into it, every time you clicked the loop pedal, it would create this pulse of hum in the loop, which is not desirable. Using a touch of noise suppressor on the ME-50 works a treat though. Either way, I would suggest you try out a loop with you effects set-up if possible before purchasing, just to make sure about noise/playability. |

09.26.12 | There is no better noise suppressor than an ISP Decimator imo. I own one and it works very very well. |

09.26.12 | Damn u guys are giving me gear-envy. Always wanted a Tele Thinline ....musstt...ressist...aaaaaaa |

09.26.12 | menawati, you should check out the POD HD. It's the newest version of the POD and sounds fuckin' great. I owned an HD 500 for several months and you could literally make any sound with it. |

09.26.12 | "i always wanted a jazzmaster type guitar. but yeah you can't go wrong with fender."
I am waiting for my Jazzmaster to be delivered :)
I don't have any particular recs for noise suppressors, but I always here the Decimator being thrown around in metal circles. Just check if there is noise, and how much/how annoying, in your set-up first.
Also, anybody looking at buying Boss delays, or cheaper pedals, check out this fine company: http://www.earthquakerdevices.com |

09.26.12 | Yeah I want to get the Disaster Transport Jr. at some point to replace my DD-3. A friend of mine has the reverb/delay pedal and it sounds awesome. |

I feel the anticipation. I'm waiting for my new pickups and electronics/guts to come in. |

you haven't played it before you bought ? |

09.26.12 | "Nice, what pick-ups and why the mod?"
It's for my Tele American Special, so that's kind of the halfway model between the high end Americans and the Mexican ones. Therefore, the guts aren't anything spectacular. The volume control isn't great at cleaning up and the Greasebucket tone circuit just isn't usable to me. I'm going to swap out all the pots, jacks, switches, and caps for American made parts.
Finding the right pups has been a journey though. At first it was going to be high end Lollars but I didn't want to shell out 100+ for a single pup so I decided to go with a set of '51 Nocasters. |
liledman
09.26.12 | That sounds great. Cheap electronics really drag you down when you actually try and make use of them. Haha dude... 100+ for a single pup? In store is Australia no EMGs or Duncans or whatever else are less than 200. Gear talk makes me hate Australian retail, and shipping prices.
@menawati ^that's why I bought online, it's almost half price, depending where you buy it. I have played a jazzmaster before, so I know I like them, and I can get it set up if it isn't particularly friendly off the plane. No big deal. It's a Vintage '62 model anyway, so it shouldn't be poor quality. |

09.26.12 | @bloc, where did you buy the parts from? |

09.26.12 | If I had the money, I would totally forget about pedals and go for the Axe Fx-II. |

09.26.12 | TM, both were right off ebay, as are nearly all of my instrument related purchases. |
bloc
09.26.12 | liledman, I hear ya. Every time I look into something coming out of Australia on ebay the total price is significantly higher than something coming out of the US. As a result, I can't say I give the Australians too much of my business haha. |
