Let The R4dio Play
I had this all shuffled up playin' as I drove into the city today. The weather
was nice enough to have the windows down, so I guess I am lucky... I
can't wait for summer! ... This is only my second list, so I tried to include a
lot of my favorites. Soon you guys will be acclimated to my taste. |
1 | | The American Dollar Atlas
"Clones" - Ambient/Post-Rock - They always deliver. |
2 | | The Appleseed Cast Mare Vitalis
"Fishing The Sky" - Emo/Indie/Post-Rock - Possibly my favorite album right now. |
3 | | Baths Pop Music/False B-Sides
"Seaside Town" - Electronica - Wonderful. If you liked Cerulean, I'd give this album
a shot too. |
4 | | Beck Sea Change
"Guess I'm Doin' Fine" - Alternative - This mostly acoustic album is my favorite from
Beck. It's filled with SO many great songs. |
5 | | Brad Sucks Guess Who's A Mess
"Waste of TV" - Alternative/Rock - More of you need to hear this guy. Seriously. |
6 | | Bright Eyes Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil...
"Bowl of Oranges" - Alternative/Folk - Lyrical genius. One of the best, if not the
best Bright Eyes release. Conor Oberst can do no wrong in my mind. |
7 | | Codeine The White Birch
"Loss Leader" - Slowcore - A little slow for such a nice day, but Codeine sounds
good just about any day to me. |
8 | | Death Cab For Cutie Codes and Keys
"Doors Unlocked and Open" - Alternative/Indie - From the latest Death Cab release,
this song has always been my favorite. Pretty upbeat. |
9 | | Elliott Smith Elliott Smith
"St. Ide's Heaven" - Alternative/Folk - The best Elliott song. This s/t album along
with Either/Or are his best albums. |
10 | | Filter Title of Record
"It's Gonna Kill Me" - Alternative/Heavy Rock - There are a lot of great songs from
this album too, but the bass line in this track is killer. |
11 | | Foo Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
"Stranger Things Have Happened" - Rock - This acoustic track was a stand-out
listen for me, especially coming from such an average release. |
12 | | Grandaddy Under The Western Freeway
"Summer Here Kids" - Alternative Rock/Lo-Fi - Grandaddy can produce a lot of
different types of music. Here, they show a little bit heavier side. This song from
their debut carries a lot of distortion, which is somewhat uncharacteristic. "A.M.
180" is another must-hear from this album. |
13 | | Hot Chip Made In The Dark
"Shake A Fist" - Electronic/Indie - Hot Chip has always exemplified what I look for
when I go to Electronica music. They are unique and interesting. They experiment
with a decent amount of bass and primarily use electronic drum looping. I love it. |
14 | | LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver
"Someone Great" - Electronica/Post-Punk - When these guys release a post-
breakup Greatest Hits album, it'll be sooo great. |
15 | | Modest Mouse The Moon & Antarctica
"The Cold Part" - Alternative Rock/Indie - Just one of many awesome songs from
one of my favorite bands. |
16 | | Pedro The Lion It's Hard To Find A Friend
"Suspect Fled The Scene" - Alternative/Indie - If Built To Spill had better vocals...
and was overall three times as good. |
17 | | Puscifer Conditions Of My Parole
"Tiny Monsters" - Industrial/Alternative - I never thought much of Maynard's other
project until I heard this album. Here's the opener... |
18 | | Ratatat Ratatat
"Seventeen Years" - Electronica - These guys really don't have a bad song, do
they?.. I can't wait for the new album. |
19 | | Snow Patrol Final Straw
"Ways & Means" - Alternative Rock - A Coldplay-brand band that does it better.
This album, their debut is one of their best and is a little heavier than other stuff
you've probably heard by them. Forget about "Chasing Cars." |
20 | | Soul Coughing Irresistable Bliss
"How Many Cans?" - Alternative Rock - Quite possibly the chillest song ever. |
21 | | Tyler The Creator Wolf
"Slater" - Rap/Hip-Hop - Great beats, decent lyrics... He's getting better. |
22 | | The Whitest Boy Alive Rules
"1517" - Indie - Angular guitar riffs. |
