Starflyer 59 - 'Silver' (MBV-esque shoegaze from an indie/dream pop band)

05.05.13 | Starflyer's awesome. They've been making music since the early 90's, and they have something like 12 albums to digest. The early stuff is really shoegazy, and it progresses rather nicely through the early 2000 stuff (which is probably their best music overall--'Leave Here a Stranger', 'Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice', etc.), and then 'Dial M' where there's not much shoegaze at all, but a lot more indie and lo-fi, and then their latest two, which I haven't digested much of at all. |
