immortalizepain 06.19.13	You should be careful with gadgets esp. when they're near liquids and vice versa. You should have not tried to boot it up when it's still wet right? RIP Man.
omnipanzer 06.19.13	Realistically you shouldn't have tried to boot it up until you've pulled everything and inspected it particularly if the pop was sugary. On the upside if the computer was newer you can probably salvage some of it. I would think the Mobo, discrete graphics card, RAM, CPU fan and PSU to be the most likely to be damaged. Any or all components could have been though.
ImmortalPaper 06.19.13	I shut it down as soon as it happened and didn't boot it again until I had popped it open and wiped everything down, once to soak up the soda and once to clean the affected areas of the sticky. Only reason I thought to even boot it again was that nothing much really happened when the hardware came in contact with the liquid. No sparks, popping, anything. I think the thing I'm most concerned with recovering is going to be my music folder given that my lazy arse never backs anything up, aha. Right now I'm under the impression that the motherboard was fried somewhat discreetly during the whole ordeal, per my father who built the tower for me years upon years back.
