Misleading Album Covers

The old cliche "don't judge a book by it's cover" reworked as "dont judge an ralbum by it's art".....some of these album covers do not describe the music rat all..
1 Puscifer

One look at this album cover makes you think what was going through Maynard's
head, it looks like it was designed by a primary school kid who was
pissing around on photoshop. The music itself is weak and it just doesn't fit the
album cover.
2Puscifer
Conditions of My Parole

Making the list twice, Maynard has done it again. This album cover is laughably bad, and
the fact Maynard himself is on the cover (in an orange prison suit) makes it all the more awkward. The music itself is quite
brooding and takes itself seriously. Nothing like the album cover. I shook my head in disbelief when I heard the music.
3Faith No More
Angel Dust

The album cover for FNM's 1992 oddball classic features a large bird, a heron or a
stork of some kind which has no relevance to anything whatsoever and doesn't prepare the
listener for the onslaught of chaos they're about to hear. Even more creepy is the
back cover with the picture of the abbatoir and meat factory. WTF!?
4Sigur Ros
Kveikur

This album cover features a person wearing a mask of some kind, giving it a kind of
foreboding and dark look, yet Brennistein aside this album is far more light than dark
and doesn't reflect the music inside.
5Deafheaven
Sunbather

The blurred hues of pink and red and the barely visible letters bring to mind a soft and chilled out album, not an
album of this emotional intensity. If I saw this album at a record store my mind
would think more shoegaze or some indie rock shit.
6Eagles Of Death Metal
Heart On

Looking more like a cover for a Metalcore band, with the heart in hand doesn't
reflect the playful nature of the music...and then there's the somewhat misleading
band name...Eagles of Death Metal? Eh? as in the band who wrote Hotel California doing
Death Metal? Huh?
7The Smiths
Meat is Murder

This album cover of a Marine Corp in the Vietnam war, combined with the title
"Meat is Murder" brings to my mind a hardcore punk album, definitely not the playful
and sarcastic nature of The Smiths.
8Tomahawk
Oddfellows

Well they got one thing right, the album title does a good job of describing the
members of Tomahawk. The album cover though looks like a kids storybook, albeit a
very fucked up one.
9Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

This album cover might be fragments of Kanye's dark twisted fantasy but it looks
cheap and nasty. I actually thought it was a joke album cover when I first picked it
up. Then you listen to the album with songs like Runaway and feel the album
should've been deserving of a better album cover.
10Dream Theater
Greatest Hit (... and 21 Other...)

Dream Theater, the kings of pretense doing humour? wtf? An album of supposed greatest hits, with a cover
featuring a red couch on a beach with seagulls shitting on it...hint guys, stick to doing pretensious album covers, it suits you
better. ;)
