Riot Fest

So, last weekend I headed to riot fest, an 8 hour bus ride, and 40$ a night rin a sketchy as hell rhotel, gotta say, it was all worth it
1The Flatliners
Dead Language

Great band, and great way to start off the weekend
2Flatfoot 56
Toil

Not too familiar with their, stuff, just know that it's a fun celtic punk band and that
was enough for me to see them, they were a lot of fun, and the first time I did a
wall of death, even though it seemed not too many people did it
3Hatebreed
The Divinity of Purpose

Say what you will about the band, but jasta knows how to work a crowd and put
on a fun show, second time I have seen them
4Bad Religion
True North

One of the main reasons for me to make the trip to chicago, Put on a great show, but holy shit, I they are getting old, faster
than I thought
5Atmosphere
God Loves Ugly

after Bad religion I kinda started talking to this girl, and missed the first few songs, but I caught some of the songs I wanted to
hear, he sounded great, just didn't really get into it as much.
6Sublime With Rome
Yours Truly

Good show, only complaint I really had is that I kinda wished they did more of their faster songs, and less of... rome's stuff, but
he sounded alright
7Fall Out Boy
Save Rock and Roll

They Were Fucking Lame
8Danzig
Danzig

So, after Sugar, I ran over to the other side of humboldt to see danzig again, even though I saw his anniversery tour a few
weeks before, got here when he did the Misfits stuff; I turned into a martian, Bullet, last caress, ect. sounded amazing
9Mephiskapheles
Maximum Perversion

Second day, didn't know anything about this band, all I knew was that they were a satanic ska band, and that was enough for
me, they were pretty good, enjoyed their set
10Surfer Blood
Pythons
11T.S.O.L.
Dance With Me

I thought it was pretty cool these guys were playing, they were a lot of fun, ended their set like 20 minutes early
12X
Los Angeles

they sounded great, but near the end you could see they were getting tired, they had an extra 20 minutes to play because
TSOL finished early for whatever reason
13The Lillingtons
Death By Television

They sounded great, but left their set early to see the Sidekicks
14The Sidekicks
Awkward Breeds

I have been wanting to see these guys for a long time, and Im glad I finally did, I hope these guys start to get bigger, very
talented
15Glassjaw
Worship and Tribute
16Guided By Voices
English Little League
17Black Flag
Nervous Breakdown

Or Flag as keith explained many times, setlist was as long as their amp and they sounded straight off of a Black Flag record, it
was wonderful and the crowd was energetic as hell, one of my favorite shows of the weekend
18The Lawrence Arms
Oh! Calcutta!
19Public Enemy
Fear Of A Black Planet

Surprisingly might have been the best show of the entire festival, saw them over Rancid, cause I probably would never see
Public enemy again. Flavor flav is actually really talented and they were so energetic, got way into it.
20Violent Femmes
The Violent Femmes

Unfortunatly I missed Blister in the sun because I was still at Public enemy, but they played their entire first album, which was a
nice treat, cause... well... bluntly, that's all I care about
21Chuck Ragan
Covering Ground

Third day started off miserable, it rained most of the day, but in some cases it enhanced some of the shows, unfortunately, not
Chucks. There was some sound problems and his mic is the only mic that worked, but despite these problems he put on a fine
show
22Maps & Atlases
Beware and Be Grateful
23Pet Symmetry
Two Songs About Cars. Two Songs with Long Titles.

I have never heard of this band before, but I was on my way to Hostage calm and heard them, so I wandered to their stage
instead, i am glad, cause they were spectacular, they were fun and sounded great, I really hope these guys start to get
recognized soon
24Reggie And The Full Effect
Songs Not To Get Married To

Another band I really didn't listen to, they were good, but reggie himself was actually really funny
25The Wonder Years
The Greatest Generation

Second time I have seen them, and by far better this time around, got kicked in the back of the head and kinda broke my
glasses. and as always, Soupy sounded fantastic
26Bayside
Killing Time

Saw them over Against Me! only cause it's a good friend of mine's favorite band, and she wanted me to see them. They were
good, but Anthony didn't really hit the notes on Devotion and Desire I thought, but he still sounded alright.
27The Dismemberment Plan
Emergency & I
28Saves The Day
Stay What You Are
29Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

Biggest reason I came all the way down to chicago, For a while there was rumors that they were gonna do the entirely of Deja.
Jesse immediately put that rumor to rest by coming out screaming starting with Vices, before they got to their older stuff, fan-
fucking-tastic set, made my entire trip worth it, They played with such intensity and finished up with You Won't Know.
30AFI
Burials
31Pixies
Doolittle
32The Replacements
Let It Be

Headlining the entire thing was the classic minnesota band, and they were amazing, I was surprised how good they sounded
after getting back together. There was not flashiness to their show, just the standard unlike all the other headliners with a shit
ton of lights to blind the crowd and a huge backdrop, the replacements merely just had a middle finger made of lights that they
used once. They were fun, energetic, sounded great, simply a fantastic show, even though they didn't play here comes a
regular.
33Bob Mould
Silver Age

I put too many slots in, so I just added him there, Kinda just heard him from afar as i was resting.
