Top Ten Rock/Metal Bands Of All Time

In my opinion, these are the top ten bands of all time. You don't have to agree with me, but I love the music I love.
1Metallica

Metallica hasn't stuck with the sound they started out with, but they've done much better over the years than many of the thrash metal bands who have. Metallica perfected the thrash metal sound with their first three albums, and showed they can pull off almost everything else with every album they released since.
2John Mellencamp

Mellencamp had a rough start with his first albums, but has grown into one of the greatest singer, songer writers of all time. Over the years he's released hits like "Scarecrow", "Small Town" and "Jack & Diane", and has still after 30 years in the buisness put out amazing songs like "Our Country", and "Ghost Towns Along The Highway".
3Bob Seger

Bob Seger is yet another amazing singer, songwriter who also had a rough start. But again, over the years he grew into a classic with songs like "Turn The Page", "Beautiful Loser", and "Like A Rock".
4Megadeth

Megadeth is another classic band of thrash metal who has solidified itself as a legend in the music industry. Though Megadeth had some rough years in the 90s, they have come back with the last few albums "Playing for Blood" as one of their recent songs so beautifully puts it.
5Pillar

Though Pillar isn't a very old band, they are dear to my heart. In my opinion no Christian bands out there can match them...and no band has helped me so much over the years as much as these guys have. Musically they are a band that has something most other rock bands don't. Something that grabs the most attention is their drummer and bass player. Since Lester their drummer came on the scene in "Where Do They Go From Here" they've grown to a much more quality band.
6Nickelback

Though many people absolutely hate Nickelback, more people love them. You can argue how mainstream they are, but they have written some excellent songs that are fun to sing along with. Chad Kroeger is an amazing lead singer, and personally my favorite singer of all time.
7Collective Soul

Though I don't like all of their albums...this is another band dear to my heart. I grew up listening to my mother play their self titled album almost daily when she drove me to school. That is still my favorite album to this day. Ed Roland has an amazing voice, making them also an incredible band to see live.
8Eric Clapton

He did excellent work with the band Cream, as well as a solo artist. Clapton is an awesome guitarist, and no list would be complete without him.
9The Guess Who

It's hard to argue with The Guess Who, who put out classics like "No Time", "American Woman", and "Hand Me Down World".
10Godsmack

Godsmack is another band that can get a lot of hate...but also gets a lot of love. They are the only true band to do an excellent job mating the sounds of hard rock, and tribal drumming. Godsmack has put out amazing classics like "Voodoo", "Serenity", "I Stand Alone" and even amazing ballads like "Hollow", and "One Rainy Day".
