25 Music Songs From The Year 2013 That I Have Liked A Lot
top trakz didn't put much thought into order cause like i have misplaced my rmusic enjoyment rrrrmeter |
1 | | The World is a Beautiful Place... Whenever, If Ever
Track: Getting Sodas. Now this here is some life-affirming shit. They really took the build up in this song
as far as it needed to go to get the message across. A lot of bands just don't build
enough energy. Anyway yeah this song ruled live except no one even sang along
wtf? Caspian fans I guess not used to ~**~vocals~**~ |
2 | | Zorch Zzoorrcchh
Track: Cosmic Gloss. This also came out as a single in 2011 but w/e. Fokn moogs all over the place.
Yeah it's 9 mins long and pretty repetitive but it's fun and swirly and shit |
3 | | Lorde Pure Heroine
Track: Royals.
Ya man |
4 | | Deafheaven Sunbather
Track: The Pecan Tree.
Dat riff at the end is so not trve |
5 | | Tera Melos X'ed Out
Track: Slimed.
Melody is disgusting and that's why it rules. This band has just the right amount of
ugliness. You can be my wave~*~* |
6 | | Danny Brown Old
Track: Red 2 Go.
This track kinda stands alone on the album has it's the only one more in the style of
XXX delivery-wise. But dat beat mmm and dat corned beef hash and apple jacks
mmm |
7 | | Run the Jewels Run the Jewels
Track: Sea Legs.
My idols all are your rivals/I rival all of your idols/I stand on towers like Eiffel/I rifle
down all your idols/verse oty |
8 | | Friendzone DX
Track: YR TOUCH YR BLISS.
I find a lot of Friendzone tracks kind of annoying but damn this one fine it's like
relaxing and celebratory at the same time shi man |
9 | | Sigur Ros Kveikur
Track: Hrafntinna. This one is my favorite off of the album, which as a whole took me by surprise. I really like them jangly
sounds. The atmosphere reminds me of agaetis which is definitely a good thing |
10 | | Jesu Every Day I Get Closer To The Light...
Track: Comforter.
This band is like...kinda bland. But this song has a calming blandness combined with mild heaviness that I find very pleasing |
11 | | Ttng 13.0.0.0.0
Track: A Different Kind of Tall (Small).
I like the new vox a lot especially in dat outro, relaxing af |
12 | | A Lot Like Birds No Place
Track: No Nature.
I really had my hopes up for this album but I guess it wasn't meant to be. This song is cool though, sorta typical chaotic heavy
part and then mars volta-esque funky bassline thrashy cymbal part. I like the end a lot |
13 | | Chance the Rapper Acid Rap
Track: Chain Smoker.
I had to get used to his voice I guess but this track is really catchy. I've never listened to the album through LOL |
14 | | Coheed and Cambria The Afterman: Descension
Track: Number City.
ya ya it's like the police or w/e all that matters is this is the second catchiest song of 2013 (royals) |
15 | | Danny Brown Old
Track: Lonely.
Immediate standout for me. The beat is interesting in general with kind of a 70's? vibe and Danny's honest lyrixxx make this one
a hit |
16 | | Earl Sweatshirt Doris
Track: Hive (feat. Vince Staples & Casey Veggies).
Such a simple beat and yet it gets stuck in my head all day. The beat and dark atmosphere really work with Earl's lazy flow and
Vinny Paperclips really takes it up to some next level shit |
17 | | Farewell Republic Young Effete Titans of Industry
Track: Lines.
No one listens to this band. They were actually formed at my school but moved to Brooklyn and isn't really even a band
anymore idk but really cool songwriting. Their first album is much more electric and way noisier but this one is still cool.
Awesome vocal melodies idk why they're awesome really but they just have something u no |
18 | | Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience
Track: Pusher Love Girl.
The last 3 minutes of this track are the best part. I was really excited when I first heard because I was like wow an extremely
well known pop musician is actually audibly having fun making music. I mean I'm flaccid now but yeah still good |
19 | | My Bloody Valentine m b v
Track: wonder 2.
This track really stood out to me on an album that I found incredibly mediocre. The beat is obviously pretty different by mbv
standards and this is really the only track that gave me that surrounded by swirling sound blankets feeling that loveless has |
20 | | Tera Melos X'ed Out
Track: Sunburn.
This was one of my favorite albums of the year and this song is the perfect blend of extreme catchiness/pop and
dirty/surf/slight math guitar. It's kinda like maybe 5th grade math like it's not even algebra level but u no |
21 | | Chelsea Wolfe Pain is Beauty
Track: Sick.
This song is cool and eerie and it is 21 |
22 | | Crash of Rhinos Knots
Track: Interiors.
This album really flew under the radar for me. I listen to Distal a lot but never really paid attention to this one until recently.
This song is great as usual. This band has so many gruff male voices |
23 | | Lorde Pure Heroine
Track: A World Alone.
So after like number 10 I've just been going in the order that I added the song to my foobar playlist except skipping if I had the
same artist twice in a row. So here's that other Lorde song that I really like |
24 | | Coheed and Cambria The Afterman: Descension
Track: 2's My Favorite 1.
Really really dumb song title but this song reminds me a ton of In Keeping Secrets era Coheed and that makes me most pleased. |
25 | | Protest the Hero Volition
Track: Mist.
Not sure how this one ended up on here last. This song stood out the most for me on the album. It's kinda like they took that
anthemic part in Palms Read and made a whole song based on that except way better. This song is cheesy but w/e |
