| Recent Female Singer/songwriters I Have Been In Love With
heres a list of artists or bands that are led by female singers that i have really gotten into recently. this doesnt consist of any of the metal bands that have female vocals. this is mainly folk, indie, or trip-hop (i guess you can call it that). alphabetic order. please feel free to recommend me more female artists, but no KT Tunstall please because i dont like her that much | | 1 |  | Bjork

Can't get past it but the singer from "The Gathering" has a solo album you should check out. Just started hearing the Pattos tonight. Marissa Nadler and Feist, I've heard of, without actually hearing. Bjork and Blonde Redhead, I've had my fill of. I'm more of a 'Tori Amos' kinda guy. I haven't heard a single album of hers that's let me down in any way, shape or form. None. Zippo.
I see 'Joni Mitchell' here and I never, ever, never thought of giving her music a chance. That is, until someone told me that she puts out. That she gives hand-jobs to her fans. Seriously? No, not all. I should have said, "That is, until someone told me that she once colaborated with Jazz-Whiz Bassist, Jaco Pastorius at the tail end of the 1970's." No exaggeration when I say that two of the three studio albums from this union are, not only, by far, the best stuff in Joni Mitchell catalog, but some of the best female-vocalist stuff I've ever heard. 'Hejira' and 'Don Juan's Reckless Daughter' are absolutely stellar and stunning recordings. Pastorius adds all kinds of crazy-beautiful counterpoint, color and extra melody to the brilliant compositions of 'JM'. Those two albums, plus the live outing with Pastorius, Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays, entitled 'Shadows and Light'. I never thought I could like 'JM' until I heard the stuff from the Jaco-years. PLEASE, check out just two short video tracks from the 'Shadows and Light' live DVD. Jaco and Pat add a much needed dimension to the music. Listen to the harmonics that Jaco inserts on the second track. Unbelievable.
