Album Digging - Since God Knows When
Okay, so this is like, a months worth of albums or something. I've been busy as hell rrecently and not really been feeling it - so it's gonna be brief again. |
17 | | Kaipa In the Wake of Evolution
I have no idea why I listened to this - usually I hate the cheesy hippy crap prog, but for some
reason I dig this when I'm in the mood. Wasn't a fan of their latest, though. Favourite Track:
'Electric Power Water Notes' |
16 | | Dream the Electric Sleep Heretics
I want to marry the vocalist's voice. It makes me angry how amazing his singing is. Favourite
Track: 'Elizabeth' |
15 | | Colour Haze Colour Haze
Thanks for the rec, Mad. I do prefer My Brother the Wind, though, but this is pretty tasty when
the vocalist shuts his yap - I aint a fan of that. Favourite Track: 'Did El It' |
14 | | Miles Davis Kind of Blue
I needed an evening to chill out from a shedload of work - I've taken quite a liking to jazz,
well, the jazz that isn't weird and experimental. Favourite Track: 'Flamenco Sketches' |
13 | | Haken Visions
Do I prefer this over 'The Mountain'? Maybe I do. Maybe I don't. I don't know. What I do know
is that I'm hyped for the new EP coming out. Favourite Track: 'Visions' |
12 | | Car Seat Headrest Twin Fantasy
I don't normally into indie/lo fi, but I find this album quite charming. I really need to listen to
it more though. Favourite Track: 'Bodys' |
11 | | Casualties of Cool Casualties of Cool
This album just works, I can barely fault it. In other news ASDFGGHJKL;' 2015 UK ZILTOID TOUR
WITH SHINING AS SUPPORT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. *ahem* Excuse me. Favourite Track:
Dead Eyes |
10 | | Oceansize Frames
MY LOVE FOR FRAMES IS FOREVER. FRAMES IS LOVE. FRAMES IS LIFE. Favourite Track:
EVERYTHING |
9 | | TesseracT Altered State
I listened to this album ages ago and thought nothing of it. Listened to it again recently and
was blown away by it. I really need to listen to it more. Favourite Track: 'Calabi Yau' |
8 | | Opeth Pale Communion
I've been giving this a lot of spins to give it a fair chance - the first impression it gave was not a
good one. It's grown on me to some degree but it's very hit and miss; I love tracks like Eternal
Rains Will Come, Goblin and River, but Elysium Woes and the last two just annoy me. So far it's
only about a 3-3.5 for me; stronger than Heritage, but not by much. I miss the sexy growls.
Favourite Track: 'Eternal Rains Will Come' |
7 | | Death The Sound of Perseverance
Now, I don't normally into death metal, but I stumbled on this album and it turned out to be
quite the pleasure. Still have no idea what they're singing about, but I absolutely love the
drumming. Favourite Track: 'Bite The Pain' |
6 | | Swans To Be Kind
I love the hypnotic sound Swans create in this album, other than that, I don't think I can add
any more to what's been said before. Favourite Track: 'A Little God in My Hand' |
5 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries
Solidly my favourite Opeth album. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Pale Communion. Favourite
Track: 'The Baying of the Hounds' |
4 | | Peculate The Chain Industry
I really need to review this. It's great. Check out my 2014 list for more stuff on it, plus a tasty link
to a free download (free! yay!). Favourite Track: 'Imperial Heartbeats Pt II' |
3 | | Coheed and Cambria From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
Love love love love love love love this album. It might even move up to a 5. It's only at #3 on this list because I
listened to it two days ago for the first time in a while. Favourite Track: 'The Suffering' |
2 | | Engineers Always Returning
Got the 2 disc digipak for my Geburtstag and it's been spinning since - really enjoyable album,
nothing mindblowing or revolutionary, but it's a quiet victory for the band at their peak. Again,
I need to do a review once I get some free time, which is going to be like, never. ever. Oh,
and another reason why I love it is that I ran 6k in my fastest time listening to this, so that's
another reason it's in my good books. Favourite Track: 'Innsbruck' |
1 | | Whitetail A Brief Introduction to Treepunk
http://treepunk.bandcamp.com/album/a-brief-introduction-to-treepunk-abridged-chapters
Free music is best music. I was browsing bandcamp for some goodies and stumbled upon this
badass sounding name - I don't even into D&B or EDM much, but I got really hooked on this
for the past few weeks. If anyones got anything similar to this they'd recommend I'd love to
hear it. Favourite Track: 'Art Attack: Remember You' |
