Bands I Think Could/should Have A Lot Of Mainstream Success
A lots of people seem to think that for some reason its almost shameful for a
band in certain scenes of music to have mainstream success, but I personally
love for a band to get that exposure and enjoy that success. These are some
bands that I like who I think have the potential for some mainstream success. |
15 | Mayday Parade
One of the most popular pop-punk bands right now. If they market themselves
correctly, they could easily break through and become massively successful. |
14 | Phil Wickham
Yes, most Christian music is kind of lame, but this guy actually has some decent song-
writing talent. |
13 | Modestep
Ya, its dubstep, but they incorporate actual instrumentation and vocals. They stand out
from most of the other electronic stuff that's out there. |
12 | Thank You Scientist
I just found out about these guys recently (in preparation for a Coheed and Cambria
concert). They are sort of a prog rock band, but a song like 'My Famed Disappearing
Act' could attract mainstream audiences, similar to how Coheed's 'Welcome Home' did. |
11 | We Are The In Crowd
Mainstream audiences seem to love Paramore, so I'm sure they'd like WATIC as well. |
10 | The Madden Brothers
They've just released their debut album, but their sound is perfect of mainstream
audiences, with a retro pop feel. |
9 | Twenty One Pilots
Another group that has recently gained a lot of success. They mix rap, rock, pop and
dance music together... how could they not become reach a high level of success? |
8 | We Came as Romans
Their latest album proved that they can right radio-rock influenced songs (A Moment,
Hope, Never Let Me Go) and it is only a matter of time before they gain the attention
of mainstream audiences. |
7 | Echosmith
Probably the most popular (in terms of mainstream popularity) on this list, Echosmith
has massive potential. They're blend of Indie-retro-pop could easily create multiple
singles that reach #1. |
6 | Issues
Songs like 'Late', 'Mad at 'Mad at Myself' and 'Never Lose Your Flames' show Issues'
potential for tons of radioplay and success on the rock charts. Tyler Carter's voice
doesn't hurt as well; it fits in perfectly with the R&B stuff that always popular, |
5 | The Gaslight Anthem
They have already gained some airplay and popularity on the rock charts, but I think
they have the potential to become one of those bands that are almost a household
type name that everyone has heard of. |
4 | Letlive.
Although a lot of their songs may not fit with what is typically popular, songs like
'Younger' or 'Pheremone Cvlt' could gain lots of popularity on the rock charts. I'm also
sure that people would love Jason Aalon Butler's voice. |
3 | Watsky
Watsky has also been gaining quite a bit of underground success as of late and I think
his style could become very popular with mainstream audiences. That sort of
dorky/corny musicians and artists seem to be pretty popular right now. |
2 | This Wild Life
They have already started to gain tons of success within the scene over the past year
and I think their fan-base will continue to build and hopefully they will grace the ears
of mainstream pop/rock fans. |
1 | Air Dubai
They're blend of Indie, Hip Hop and R&B could be the perfect mixture for a hit single.
Playing on Warped Tour this summer was a good start for increased exposure. I could
easily picture some songs from their new album like 'Coasts' or 'Afterglow' having lots
of airplay on the radio. |
