Bands/Albums that Deserve More Recognition
While not being an active member of Sputnik, I have been an avid user of the website for years now to keep up with new music and news, so I decided to finally make a profile with my first list being a shout out to all the bands whose talent I feel goes largely unrecognized for how amazing their work is. |
1 | | Anciients Heart Of Oak |
2 | | Conditions Full of War
It is really unfortunate that this band broke up after releasing 2 absolutely astounding albums. If you haven't listened to them, please, for the pleasure of your ears, give their albums a shot. |
3 | | Snarky Puppy Tell Your Friends |
4 | | Giraffes? Giraffes! Pink Magick |
5 | | Black Crown Initiate The Wreckage of Stars
Gives me the perfect amount of unrelenting heaviness and thoughtful melody |
6 | | Rivers Of Nihil The Conscious Seed of Light
Been a while since I enjoyed a pure Tech-Death band this much |
7 | | CHON Newborn Sun
This band mesmerizes me not just for their technicality but for their fun, carefree sound that are perfectly intertwined in this short lived masterpiece |
8 | | Destrage Are You Kidding Me? No. |
9 | | Dark Time Sunshine ANX
How they haven't ended up with the hip-hop elites of today still baffles me |
10 | | Follow The White Rabbit Endorphinia |
11 | | Hail the Sun Elephantitis |
12 | | HRVRD The Inevitable And I |
13 | | Pomegranate Tiger Entities |
14 | | The Helix Nebula Meridian
Fairly new band so they still have time to develop a following but I wasn't once bored with this album |
15 | | Olafur Arnalds Eulogy For Evolution
A beautiful endeavor through an emotional landscape, crafted so delicately yet so rigorously |
16 | | Plini Trilogy
Just listen and be amazed at Plini's range and accessibility |
17 | | The Red Chord Fed Through the Teeth Machine
This band has a fairly large following but I have always felt that it should be larger. I might be crazy but Fed through the Teeth Machine is one of the most enjoyable albums for me to listen to front to back, over and over |
18 | | The Safety Fire Grind The Ocean
How this isn't lauded for it's perfection more often surprises me. Almost everything about this band is flawless |
19 | | Thomas Giles Pulse
While his main band has a religious following, his solo albums didn't garner much attention but the fact that he wrote all of the music and it diverges so much from BTBAM's normal sound (successfully if I might add) means it should be enjoyed more, by more people |
20 | | Twelve Foot Ninja Silent Machine
This album is literally the definition of fun |
21 | | Trifonic Emergence
I haven't listened to the other albums by this band, and they don't really have a very active involvement in the scene, but this album is phenomenal |
22 | | I The Mighty Satori |
