1 | | Cop Shoot Cop Ask Questions Later
Their best album. Many artists praise this album and look up to Tod Ashley. Sputnik.. not so much.

2 | | Sounds from the Ground Mosaic
The best ambient dub I've ever heard. These guys are masters of their craft and have 3-4 very solid albums. This one being my favorite. Only one rating which is me so... listen to it.

4 | | Coroner Grin
They threw a curve ball. And I thought it was at a great point in their career. This album grooves better than any groove metal band who'd been doing it for years. Every track is at least good.

Dare I say this is almost as good as Endtroducing....? Nah, but it's really fucking good.

6 | | Drudkh Microcosmos
The point at which Drudkh needed to do something a bit different. Well, I guess Estrangement was veering in this direction. Either way the new production styling of a cleaner sound and prominent bass along with the atmosphere of Autumn Aurora make this a must listen for fans of Atmospheric Metal.

7 | | Faraquet The View From This Tower
This mathy trio was so underrated in the Dischord scene. They went on to form Medications, but this band was so much better in my opinion.

10 | | Los Lobos Kiko
This is a classic. Every track is fantastic. It's basically the best dad rock that your dad doesn't know. It's also a nice blend of blues and tex-mex. Great latin grooves with undeniably catchy songs.

11 | | Mark Lanegan The Winding Sheet
Ex Screaming Trees front man turns solo and is still going strong. This legendary vocalist with a baritone cigarettes and whiskey style similar to Tom Waits influenced many including Kurt Cobain who covered Where Did You Sleep Last Night on his MTV unplugged classic. This was Marks first solo effort and set the bar high.

12 | | Massive Attack Protection
Massive Attack follow up their 1991 classic Blue Lines with Protection. The production is smoother, there is more variety, but there is a live cover to end the album. :/

13 | | Meat Puppets Too High To Die
Sure they gave into cleaner productions and some radio friendliness but there is no denying this is a great play from start to finish. Well maybe the closer left a lot to be desired.

15 | | Pixies Trompe Le Monde
The Pixies never put out a song that I didn't like. Trompe Le Monde is no different. Sure, Kim Deal wasn't a huge part of the album, but Black Francis has incredible output as well. This took me a little while to really dig but once I did it became almost as infectious as their classic albums.

Josh Homme continued his influencial stoner rock stylings after Kyuss and put out a masterpiece close to the bar he had already set with Sky Valley and Blues for the Red Sun.

17 | | Rage Against the Machine Evil Empire
There is no way they went from a 4.4 to a 3.8 with their first two albums. In fact on some days I think Evil Empire is as good as their Self-Titled. Call me crazy.

This is N.Y. Noise Rock. This is everything you want from the genre and nothing you don't. All of the riffs on this monster make you wanna dust of the old nintendo 64 and play some Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Either that or make a trip to NYC and visit the famous CBGB club.
