04.27.16 | smae tbh. probably the main reason i listen to a lot of "singles-oriented" music now. |
MistaCrave
04.27.16 | Neither can I tbh, I just can't devote my attention to a single thing for that long |
ZippaThaRippa
04.27.16 | I can't listen to music at work but I spend probably about 75 percent of my free time jamming. It's the #1 way to relax. Mostly I use my headphones but sometimes I play it on my speakers upstairs. |

04.27.16 | I listen to music whenever I go to class / walk my dog and sometimes when I'm just lounging around. Though when it comes to new albums I sometimes go in pieces; after that I rarely listening to full albums in succession. I need some variation. |
Keyblade
04.27.16 | "smae tbh. probably the main reason i listen to a lot of "singles-oriented" music now."
yea same. i just have a bunch of playlists with singles that i listen to. i should make a car jams list one day |
LotusFlower
04.27.16 | for real though i usually spend a day or two digging around online for albums that look promising and then if they catch my eyes i tag them on RYM as "to listen to" and then will pick them up at random. If a few tracks interest me then ill either download or buy the album, throw it on my phone, and jam them at random in a shuffle. |
iloveyouall
04.27.16 | i tend to just blast whatever sounds best with my subs. |
Supercoolguy64
04.27.16 | depends. longer albums i put on when in the bg im doing something, like homework. in school, i usually listen to a shorter album (like 10 - 20 mins short) |
ZippaThaRippa

04.27.16 | if you're gonna jam an album why do it on shuffle |
ZippaThaRippa
04.27.16 | Well okay not that part. I don't ever use shuffle. |
MistaCrave
04.27.16 | Same man, and it sucks because I genuinely do enjoy music, but my attention drifts without me even noticing whenever I'm trying to listen. |
tempest--
04.27.16 | most of my listening time is when i'm travelling to and from work, but i only listen to my ipod usually on shuffle, which just has the same old shit on it that i always listen to.
i also find it hard to just sit and listen to an album because i feel like i'm wasting my time if i'm not doing anything else. but then, if i am doing something else that will often distract me from the album. and usually i want to take a couple of spins to get a feel for new records so it might take like a week of jamming here and there to actually listen to new shit. |
tempest--
04.27.16 | i could put new albums on my ipod and listen to them when i go to work but im using garbage ass basic ipod headphones so like whats the point lol |

04.27.16 | I watch a lot of soccer and it seems to me that most of the commentary is just utterly useless. So I have been turning off the sound and listening to music instead. It's 115 minutes of music but I have something visual to focus on so I don't get bored. Really helps me process whole albums. |
porcupinetheater
04.27.16 | Whenever I'm at home and not watching movies, I'm generally listening to music - doing classwork, writing, cooking, and, of course, the nightly drinking to excess |

i used to be like this except with studying instead of watching football to the point where i never used to study without music. now that i dont study anymore ive also lost my impetus to listen to music like that |

Royl123
04.27.16 | I listen to 4-5 hours of music 5 days a week. Weekends is when I take a break. |
ScuroFantasma
04.27.16 | All the time tbh. I'm a uni student studying from home (online/external) so I've got so much study time where I can jam too. I get through about 4 - 6 albums a day. Also I feel weird if I don't hear the whole album. |
Avagantamos
04.27.16 | I used to listen to full albums pretty much exclusively, but lately I've started listening to individual songs sometimes. As for listening to albums all the way through, I don't always do it all at once. I start an album on my way to classes and resume it on my way back home. I don't really have a social life, so I'm always at home with plenty of time to listen to full albums. |

ChoccyPhilly
04.27.16 | Not as much as most people here, I'd say 2-3 hours a day and it's often times likeon the bus or in the evening. They're rarely full albums aside from the evening |
Valkyrion
04.27.16 | >i also find it hard to just sit and listen to an album because i feel like i'm wasting my time if i'm not doing anything else
quit music tbh
for me it depends i guess, if I'm stressed out I'll play random stuff while messing around, otherwise I sit and listen closely while reading generally music-related articles/reviews/etc...
when: anytime I'm not doing work for university, interacting with other people and during activities that have sounds (e.g. games or movies). as you can see lately time hasn't been forgiving... |
Aftertheascension
04.27.16 | at school usually, helps me concentrate on work.
Sometimes during videogames, unless I need to soundwhore in counter strike.
Anywhere I need to burn time, really. |
Sinternet
04.27.16 | Yeah i usually jam alot when playing fm
Other than that i do it on my way to college or studying so a decent amount of time
Im kinda single-oriented as well so i usually just pick three songs at random on an album and then decide if i care enough to hear the rest |
p4p
04.27.16 | at home in PC, 3-5 hours a day usually while browsing/reading/writing paper for college. I only put pop songs or songs that sounds poppy on my phone cuz i don't really listen to music when i'm outside. |
MO
04.27.16 | I have access to youtube at work and there's a surprising amount of full albums on there, so I just listen during work |
Shemson
04.27.16 | I get an hour on the way to work in the car and an hour on the way home so I often get time for whole albums though a lot of longer albums end up with the last track or two getting a lot less plays!
Then when I'm at work I sometimes get a chance to play some music if I have a more monotonous kind of task going on but usually not. |
DinosaurJones
04.27.16 | I listen a lot at work, so usually 4-5 hours at work, and then maybe 1-2 when I'm out of work, depending on the day. Some days I listen to a lot of music, some days not so much. |
MyNameIsPencil
04.27.16 | In the hole in the ground, where I cannot make a sound

04.27.16 | @MistaCrave :
dude i know what you mean about the ADHD thing...
but honestly i find it much easier to listen to music while i'm doing something
e.g : while working, going out for a walk etc etc.
also as of lately i have been listening to much more music, i went from 2 - 3 hours a day to around 5 - 6 hours a day |
wham49
04.27.16 | I listen watching sports, put the tv on mute and spin some albums, I cant stand to listen to announcers anyway, used to do it while delivering pizzas in college |
Spacesh1p
04.27.16 | Places where I jam full albums:
- at work (I have a desk job where I can wear headphones)
- in the car
- exercising
- in my apartment (i live alone, no one to please with choices)
- in bed before sleep
That probably goes in least focused to most focused order, more or less. I much prefer albums because I don't feel like I really know what something is about until I've given the full thing a few spins. |
Spacesh1p
04.27.16 | I also do that, Wham. |
AngryJohnny
04.27.16 | At uni which gives me a lot of time for it. Next year once I've graduated I'll probs be listening to a lot less |
SCREAM!
04.27.16 | Mostly while bussing to/from work. Can easily listen to an album both ways.
Depending what I'm doing at work I can sometimes listen there too but more often than not nowadays there are too many distractions.
Otherwise, I always listen to music while I read but admittedly that isn't the best way to take in an album. |
AnimalsAsSummit
04.27.16 | i literally listen to full albums all day everyday while i do various things. if i can listen to music, usually i will. |
TheBarber
04.27.16 | Public transports with headphobes (3 hours minimum per day) and at home/at friends through a good pair of usb portable speaker when I'm chilling, showering, cooking, playing rogue lites and sleeping. So about 6 hours minimum per day
Also when my bff comes around randomly with his car we'll jam anything m/ to the max inside it |
emester
04.27.16 | Unfortunately, Im mostly exempt to listening to my music through my Senn Momentums using Itunes Match due to the fact im all out and about in college. Glad the ones I got are wireless tho because that became a hassle once in public.
Preferably, I like to listen to music through my growing Hi-Fi setup on my desk. With an amp, dac, and array of cans to choose from, I pretty much am in heaven.
However I never do work with music going as long as its something i can consider background noise or just absent of vocals. Talking of any kind distracts me, even recorded. |
climactic
04.27.16 | im busy as fuck these days. i'm lucky if i have time in between classes, work, gf, and trying to maintain a little bit of a social life to listen to a few new albums in full a week. usually its in my car, at school in between classes (same headphones as emes) or doing schoolwork at starbucks/library/whatever |
Keyblade
04.27.16 | I need to get some in ears, that's holding me back a bit, I'd prob be listening to a bit more music. can't be walking around with big ass headphones |
AnimalsAsSummit

SCREAM!
04.27.16 | "However I never do work with music going as long as its something i can consider background noise or just absent of vocals. Talking of any kind distracts me, even recorded."
That only bothers me with hip-hop or music where the vocals are really the centre focus. Most music with vox doesn't cause me any problems though
"can't be walking around with big ass headphones"
music>people so yeah you can |
Valkyrion
04.27.16 | big headphones outside are too hot on the ears and hair gets messy as well tbh, glad in-ears exist |
hal1ax
04.27.16 | i listen to full albums while reading or on walks/jogs-through headphones
in the car i typically will just flip around artists and play whatever
also sometimes when I'm feeling stressed out i will just lay down and listen to music for hours. |
Mystletainn
04.27.16 | Chilling and just listening to an album never feels like a waste of time to me because it's something I enjoy. |
dbizzles
04.27.16 | I actually started using public transportation more often just so I have time to kill and can read or listen to music. If you can find a singular bus route to and from work/school, try mixing up your schedule a bit so you can have a day or two a week where you literally have nothing better to do than listen to music.
I also listen to full albums while doing dishes and cleaning my kitchen. Mind-numbing tasks are much better when you get to pick the soundtrack. |
emester
04.27.16 | In Ears can be detrimental to your hearing if you crank the up too loud. Plus their build and throwaway nature makes them just not worth the constant purchases to me. It honestly is all down to personal preference really and in ears usually end up not being my thing. Over ears are much more of my thing.
But fuck on ear headphones, those things hurt |

04.27.16 | My old commute for one of my jobs clocked in at like 13 minutes, so I just listened to Parasite by See You Next Tuesday to/from work for a couple months. |
Nazzadan
04.27.16 | I have a lot of downtime at work, so I spend pretty much my entire shift listening to music. Most of my work shift I'll listen to music I haven't heard before. Sometimes that gets tiring, so I'll put on something I know I like/love.
When I'm driving or at home playing videogames, I generally listen to stuff I've already heard and enjoy. I probably am listening to music about 12 hours a day on average. |
dbizzles
04.27.16 | 'I probably am listening to music about 12 hours a day on average.'
Wish I could do that at work, but I'd be too distracted with headphones and I work in an office so I can't play anything out loud. Back in the day I worked in a warehouse and could play whatever the fuck I wanted on a stereo for pretty much an entire shift. It was great. |

04.28.16 | Get the music into my mobile phone and then go for a walk. And then listen to it at home. |
