While I do hear good things about the M100's, they seem to be very picky with certain genres, usually excelling in popular genres (Electronic and Pop specifically). With anything including actual instrumental arrangements (any sort of guitar music or even classical), they really falter apparently. Imo I'd steer away from them and instead get these.

06.27.16 | @emester I've heard good things about the Audio Technica. And thanks for the heads up on the genre thing... I definitely wouldnt want headphones that only exceed in eletronic and pop considering I barely listen to either
I plan to use these headphones for home listening, studying at the library and working in a cubicle at work. One of the main things that really appealed to me about the v modas was that they look pretty bad ass and I really like how they fold up and are allegedly very durable.
@sitruk Maybe I'll find somewhere that has them so I can try them on first if I decide to go this route. I would hate to buy expensive and uncomfortable headphones. |

06.27.16 | All in all, I'm looking for something around 250 dollars max, more oriented towards rock (not electronic, pop or hip hop), good looking (as I will be using them a lot in public) and portable as I will be traveling a lot with them in a backpack. What are your best suggestions? |
SitruK6
06.27.16 | If you're gonna use them a lot in public I would just rec that you buy some IEM instead of full sized headphones. |

06.27.16 | also this site isn't the best for this kind of discussion. check a website named Head Fi for these sorts of things. |
