Latest Pick-Ups (Vinyl)
Sputnik. I'm getting buried under piles of vinyl. Any good 2016 releases I should keep my eyes peeled for? Tell me about your latest pick-ups so I can get jealous about them. |
1 | | Absolute Power Absolute Power
White.More hardcore from the premier "mysterious guy hardcore" label featuring Mark McCoy and Will Killingsworth rocking mean axes. This record will take paint off of just about anything, and "Exhibitionist" may be one of my favourite songs of this year. |
2 | | Dark Blue Dark Blue
Black. This is actually the "Vicious Romance" EP from 12XU. More delightfully mopey post-punk tunes from this group of "sad-skins". |
3 | | Division of Laura Lee Das Not Compute
Black. This is actually the "Need To Get Some" EP from "Black City" full-length. T'was a dollar, and I definitely dug the song from back in the day. Can't believe it's really been over a decade at this point? Man, I'm bloody old. |
4 | | Fugazi Steady Diet of Nothing
Black. Fugazi is one of the standard "fall-back" failsafes for record shopping. Dischord always does a great job of keeping their releases (Well, mostly) in print, so I'll usually buy one of their records if I can't find anything else I want in a store. This is my least favourite release by them, but it's still wonderful. |
5 | | Knife Fight Crisis
Black. This is actually the Isolated EP. In an out before you know it hardcore. |
6 | | Lion of Judah Soul Power
Trans. Red. I've been scoping for this one for AWHILE now. Sure, I could've dropped a dime on Discogs, but I like the "thrill of the hunt"...and endless waiting. Sooooo, it finally turned up in Broadway Reckless. DC hardcore produced by Don Zientara post 2000. This one was a ripper. |
7 | | Off Minor Innominate
Black. Speaking of records I've been seeking for FREAKING forever...this puppy popped up recently for under ten buckaroos. It's in great shape too (Barring a few crinkles on the jacket). Happy day! |
8 | | Saetia A Retrospective
Black. This is the reissue through Secret Voice. Pre-ordered this who-ha right away (Not that it's going to sell-out any time soon). City of Caterpillar and Saetia reissues in the same year? 2016 is the year of magic Christmasland. |
9 | | Vektor Terminal Redux
Black. I can't get enough of this little ball'o'immortal space dust. You really tickle my gourd, Vektor. |
10 | | With Honor With Honor
Opaque Yellowish. Posicore from CT that ripped hard. Man, I really miss these guys. |
