08.31.16 | provide a story/example whenever you mention a talent or trait you have.
Not only does it provide proof it can also make you more memorable. |

Calc
08.31.16 | do research on the company you want to work for beforehand and incorporate it into your answers. wear nice business-y clothes, no jeans, no t-shirts. don't fidget, stay still. look the interviewer in the eye. formulate your answers before you speak, rambling is bad.
I conduct interviews for my agency these are just some things that bother me |

08.31.16 | 1. it sounds cheesy but seriously the most important thing is to be yourself, they will always see if you're faking it. if you're nervous, do something relaxing before the interview
2. like calc pointed out, do some research before getting in there because it's very likely they're gonna ask you something about it and that's also a way to prove you're genuinely interested in the job. there are also a lot of 'most asked job interview questions' lists in the internet, you could check some of them and try to figure how you'd answer them
3. dress up appropriately. this is where i disagree with calc, the way of dressing up depends on where you're applying to. if the job you wanna get is some kinda warehouse job you might not wanna dress too preppy but yeah generally what you're wearing also shows how interested you actually are |

08.31.16 | I don't know how much this applies, but I will say be persistent. I applied and was interviewed at my current job about 4 times over the course of a year and a half. Every time I was interviewed, I felt sure I would get it. The last time (and the time I got hired) I told them that I had been interviewed prior, and it would be my last attempt. I wanted the job, obviously, and they kept interviewing me, so obviously they saw something in me. After saying I wouldn't try again, they hired me. |

08.31.16 | can't help you as far as tips go, but good luck regardless, hope it works out for ya :] |
Tunaboy45
08.31.16 | don't lie (but you can exaggerate your achievements)
be yourself
don't overthink it
research the job so they know you're serious about wanting it and you've put some thought into it
brush your teeth and make yourself presentable but don't go over the top
shake their hand before you sit down, always a good start |
Tunaboy45
08.31.16 | I'm sure you'll do great! |

08.31.16 | eye contact is important
as is in everyday life |
Tunaboy45
08.31.16 | eye contact is important but not to a creepy degree, you can look away every now and then when you're thinking |
slikphuk
08.31.16 | "ill be at the bottom if it takes me to to the top"
yeah.... thats the spirit |
Tunaboy45
08.31.16 | best way to show you're having a good think by the way is to squint your eyes and look down, looking to your top right makes them think you're lying (even though that's been proven to be untrue) |
zakalwe
08.31.16 | Take out the shit piercings in your face, cover up tattoos. Listen and then respond. |
Tunaboy45
08.31.16 | Also instead of going 'ermmmmmmm' to allow yourself time to think, repeat the question they've just asked you.
So for example they say "where do you see yourself in 5 years time?" (a pretty typical question), you'd go "hmm, where do I see myself in 5 years tiiiiiime...", buying yourself some time to think |
Relinquished
08.31.16 | "eye contact is important but not to a creepy degree"
duh goes without saying |
zakalwe
08.31.16 | Alternatively storm in there and point at each interviewee while screaming "this has fuck all to do with you and it's all about me. I want the job so give it to me and I'll do it for a bit and if I don't like it I'll fuck it off. I want to know who does the LGBT rights around here and who I can contact in the morning if I'm a bit tired and don't feel like coming in. I want travel paid for, and I want to be able to display my Jack Skellington sleeve tatt cos it's cool as fuck."
If you don't get the job, whine, complain and moan about it and blame brexit. |
slikphuk
08.31.16 | i hope u get the job hellscythe, i know ur character is going to be what your employer wants, and i hope the best for ya! |
Artuma
08.31.16 | one thing you should keep in mind as well is that they are looking for an employee who benefits the company so you might wanna think about why hiring you would be good for the company, not only why you'd like working there |
bloc
08.31.16 | Definitely have stories prepared. Ones that involve teamwork, how you took lead, how you followed, how you made a positive change or improvement in something.
Always try to follow your action with a reaction. Like when you say "I did this..." also mention afterwards how it "...improved efficiency in this, this, and this". This is particularly important when writing points in your resume.
