Anime of 2016 part 1 - Winter

So, this is pretty much a list of anime in 2016 that I've watched or I've checked some of the episodes. Winter is the season where I actually completed the most anime compared to other seasons. There are many interesting anime in here, my favorite is actually coming from a rather under-watched anime.
1Envy
All the Footprints You've Ever Left...

Showa Genroku Shinjuu - My personal favorite

The story is about a form of old entertainment in Japan called 'Rakugo', which is an art of story telling mainly focused on Comedic story. It might sound uninteresting, but the most charming thing about this anime is the character interaction between two protagonists growing up together as a rival during pre-WWII. The story also shows how there are specialties in each storytellers (rakugo performer), and that also includes the contrast between the two protagonists. It might be the best anime in 2016 for me.

Genre: Drama, Historical, Josei

Ashes Against the Grain

AJIN (Demi-Human)

First of all, this is an anime made using Computer Graphic. I would say that it's aesthetically displeasing for some people and It's completely understandable since any anime watcher isn't used to that. Nonetheless, I still personally like this anime for its story and characters. AJIN is mainly dealing about how human shouldn't fuck with its superior-immortal version. It also has the best antagonist of 2016.

Genre: Action, Horror, Mystery, Seinen, Supernatural

8.7/10

Origin of Symmetry

Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi - ERASED

Erased tells a story about a protagonist who can time leap before/after something bad happened and boom, he alters the destiny and saved a boy from getting hit by a truck in exchange for 2 days of his consciousness. Well that's how the story starts, until he went back 18 years after something bad happened the first episode to save a classmates whom went missing at that time period. The story is suspenseful and thrilling to watch since it's a mystery anime, but it fails to show on how mystery anime should look like. Too many unexplained things within the story, including the antagonists motive of his moves.

Genre: Mystery, Psychological, Seinen, Supernatural

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! - recommended watch

Shortened as KonoSuba. It's HILARIOUS. Yes, that's the first word to describe this anime. The anime is pretty much a parody of Stuck-in-RPG-world-scenario such as SAO, etc. Live in a fantasy world isn't as easy as it seems, according to the protagonist, Kazuma.

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Supernatural

8.2/10
5Aimer
Daydream

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

It's like the complete opposite of KonoSuba. The anime takes a realistic/slice-of-life version of stuck-in-RPG-world-scenario. It's really hard to follow the anime because it's kinda boring for the most part. It shows something like a daily interaction of couple of roommates. The characters development is the good part of this show. Maybe because it's the whole point of this show, an example of how character development should work irl. It's slow but rewarding, somehow (I actually like the development a lot lol). There are quite a lot of animation error in this anime, it's tolerable at least.

Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

7.8/10
6Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas
Dance & Scream

Gate 2nd Season

How would a clash of a setting between medieval-fantasy and a modern life look like? Gate is the interpretation for that. It's good for the first season because it actually shows the interactions between the medieval empire and modern life military. There's a political aspect in this anime, and that kinda makes it interesting. Except that the second season's political aspect goes full retard. Still enjoyable to watch.

Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Military

Dagashi Kashi

Candy commercial the anime. Do you like a mindless interaction with no character development at all? What about candies? Maybe you would like this anime if you have a childhood friend fetish. Because that's the only reason why I watch the anime at all.

Genre: Comedy, Shounen, Slice of Life

Musaigen no Phantom World

Kyoto Animation makes an aesthetically pleasing anime, including this one. But, is kinda focused on tits physics. If you like ecchi and a good animation, maybe you'll like this anime.

Genre: Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Supernatural

Tits/10 - dropped
9Nujabes
Modal Soul

Didn't watch, but worth mentioning, mainly sequels:
Durarara!! 2x
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (TV) 2nd Season
Akagami no Shirayuki Hime 2nd Season
