| Favorite 10 Christmas Albums listed on Sputnik
Now that it's December, here's a list of my favorite 10 Christmas albums listed on Sputnik. The order is a little loose, but my #1 and #2 are definitely my #1 and #2. | 10 | | Gloria Estefan Christmas Through Your Eyes
A solid Christmas album throughout, this one makes the list for "Christmas Through Your Eyes", one of the view decent new original Christmas songs to come into widespread release in the last 25 years. | 9 | | Amy Grant Home for Christmas
Like the Gloria Estefan album, Amy Grant makes the list for "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)", her addition to the standard Christmas repertory. The rest of the album is OK, if standard. | 8 | | Andy Williams The Andy Williams Christmas Album
It's an oldie, but this was one of the first two Christmas albums my family ever owned when I was a kid, so for me, it takes me back to that time. Best are his renditions of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year", "Happy Holidays", and a surprisingly good version of "O Holy Night". | 7 | | Celtic Woman A Christmas Celebration
I recognize this is going to be a little too cheesy for a lot of you, but as an Irish American, I appreciate the beauty they bring to standard Irish songs (or in this case, to standard Christmas music). | 6 | | Jethro Tull The Jethro Tull Christmas Album
One of my favorite bands of all time gathered all of the various Christmas songs they'd recorded over the years, (like "Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow" and "Another Christmas Song") and added a few new ones and a few of their older songs that aren't quite Christmas songs (like "Weathercock"), but are close enough. Works for me. | 5 | | Mannheim Steamroller Christmas
These guys are known for their Christmas music. Their version of "Silent Night" is the best ever. | 4 | | Blackmore's Night Winter Carols
Like Jethro Tull, their Elizabethan sound (and Candice Night's exquisite voice) make them ideally suited to do a Christmas album. Highlights are their version of "Emmanuel", and their original song "Christmas Eve". | 3 | | Mannheim Steamroller A Fresh Aire Christmas
This one is the most consistently solid of their many Christmas albums. Their version of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" (done in 2 parts) is the best take ever on a Christmas song that usually isn't one of my favorites. | 2 | | Vince Guaraldi Trio A Charlie Brown Christmas
For many people (even on this site, I've noticed), this is the album that most reminds them of Christmas. I don't know why we haven't heard more covers of "Christmas Time Is Here" over the years. | 1 | | South Park Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics
A demented classic, this is (to steal a line from Howard Stern) family entertainment if you happen to be the Manson family. Don't listen if you're easily offended. My favorite is always the beautiful song that Satan sings to cheer up Hitler, "Christmas Time in Hell". "Merry Christmas, movie house!" | |

if i ever hear "i want a hippopotamus for christmas" ever a fucking gain i'll probably snap | ArsMoriendi
12.01.16 | Hippopotomous for Christmas is kind of annoying and that one where the kid sings about his mom kissing Santa is pretty strange, but most Christmas music is okay in my book
Father Christmas by The Kinks is hilarous
Also Christmastime by The Smashing Pumpkins is great
and Paul McCartney's Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time is classic | manosg
12.01.16 | Not a huge fan of Christmas albums but I've been meaning to check 2 for so many years. Will definitely check it this year while putting up decorations. | guitarded_chuck
