Most Anticipated Albums of 2017

These are the albums that I personally am most looking forward to in 2017. I don't know for sure that all 10 of these artists will actually release something new in 2017, but I'm hoping. Others I'm hoping for include Blondie (I loved their last album. Do they have another great one in them?), Brand New (Am I dreaming they'll come out with another one? Maybe.), Walk the Moon (Another band, like Coin, that does great alternapop), Fleetwood Mac (Do these guys have anything left in the tank? Will Stevie Nicks have some songs on it? Stay tuned.), The Secret History (Will they ever put out another one? I'm starting to doubt it.), and The Magnetic Fields (I'm a little wary that Stephin Merritt may have bitten off more than he could chew here, but he might surprise me).

Causality

I know most of you have never heard of him, but I love his brand of dark, moody acoustic music. 2014's "Causality" was his best release yet, with its strange themes of science fiction and time travel, and I understand he's in the studio again working on a new release for 2017.
9Coin
Coin

I thought their 2015 self-titled debut was an excellent album of pop alternative music. I liked the 2016 "Talk Too Much" single, and I'm hoping for a full-length release in 2017.

Fantasies

I liked the last two albums, but found them a little disappointing after "Fantasies". But hope springs eternal. They're about due for a new one this year, but who knows.
7The Sounds
Crossing the Rubicon

I have no idea if these guys are working on a new album or not, but I'm hoping. Most of their albums seem to end up in my yearly Top Ten lists, and I have no reason to think their next one won't do so as well.
6Candy Hearts
All The Ways You Let Me Down

I know they dropped an EP last year. Just hoping (maybe in vain?) for a new full-length in 2017. Their Facebook page says they've recorded enough material for two albums. Just one would suit me fine.
5The Republic of Wolves
No Matter How Narrow

"No Matter How Narrow" was such a great album. I know they dropped a new single in September, so I'm assuming an album will follow.
4Priory
Need to Know

"Need to Know" was one of my top albums of 2015, and the video for "Weekend" was one of my favorite videos. Will they have a new LP in 2017? Your guess is as good as mine.

Critical Mistakes

"Critical Mistakes" was one of my favorite songs of this past year, and the video was probably my favorite video. These guys have been content to drop EPs so far. Will 2017 find them dropping their first LP?
2Foster the People
Torches

I'm pretty sure the new LP is almost ready, and should be out by the summer. "Torches" is probably my favorite album of the decade so far, so naturally I'm pretty psyched to hear the new album.
1Paramore
Riot!

I'm looking forward to this one with a mixture of excitement and dread. I thought that the self-titled album after the Farro brothers left the band was OK, but also a big step down from "Riot!" and "Brand New Eyes". I know that Zac Farrro is back recording with them, even though he hasn't rejoined the band, but I'm not sure they're capable of reaching the heights of their earlier work without both Hayley Williams and Josh Farrow in the band, and I just don't see that ever happening.
