Don't fuck this up." Instead, they decided to go full hipster and give it to an empty directionless flop that only rides off of political correctness.

Papa Universe 02.27.17	I thought that it was just (as I said) a collection of different 'things happening' and plot going in no actual direction. Even the main character didn't really go through any real change, cause at the end he is basically exactly the same as at the beginning, a quiet wishy-washy figurine with a vague personality.

Arrival got a couple awards, which is good but lion got no respec :/ I saw Manchester like 3 months ago the first week it was released not knowing a thing about it with my girl and before all the hype flooded in. so I really enjoyed that expericne but I'm sure I would have been kind of disappointed had I seen it even a week later. because yes that movie was quite over hyped for a movie about nothing. quality movie

These are the kinds of films that would never win an Oscar for best picture or screenplay, because of the 'system'. Moonlight is as typical a win as you can get. You are right on the mainstream thing though. La La Land was the most obvious possible pick there could be, but an Oscar always goes either to the most talked about film or to the hooray-PC stuff, which is exactly what Moonlight is.‎
