A fairly straighforward vintage throwback with some infectious energy to it. I might not have been entirely blown away by it, but it is a grower. 3.6/5

I'll use one of butcherboy's favourite lines to describe this album: This is fucking lovely. The tangly and jolly guitarwork and the atmosphere of restraint and youthful contempt worked wonderfully. This album is one of the better throwbacks out there, obviously borrowing its sound from the proto-Post-Punk acts like Gang of Four, The The or Public Image Ltd. But it also has a certain gentle aesthetic to it, often displayed in brooding background synthesisers. It's a doozie. 4.2/5

There Must Be Some Way To Stop Them

Well, this has Post-Punk at its very surface, but I'd personally characterise it as just a usual Post-Hardcore, but one with some Post-Punk-like instrumentation. Yeah, as an album it's really good and could get a 4.0/5, but I'll have to take off 1.0 for the severe lack of Post-Punk in it. 3.0/5

You really have problems with figuring out what Post-Punk is, aye? Still, this is much closer to what I asked for whan Vaux. Imagine taking your usual traditionalist Post-Punk songwriting and instrumentation, then add yelpy angsty vocals and much harsher production. The result will be a strange, but oddly working hybrid of Post-Punk essence and Emo nature. It's intriguing to say the least. 4.1/5

Easily the oddest entry this Round. There is a strange cold and disjointed flavour to it. Unfortunately, I did find a lot of the songwriting to be mostly forgettable, but the near-futuristic instrumentation made up for it most of the time. 3.3/5

This is that good old cocky, cigarette-toating chap-Punk that I grew up loving. All of this album's musical ideas are pretty much recipe for my adoration, from its often odd instrumental blend to the dysrhythmic and off-beat songwriting. However, that is also the album's biggest flaw. It tries so hard to be off-the-wall and oddball that it ultimately only alienates. As if it begged you to hate it. And it partially succeeds at that. Still, the nostalgic atmosphere and the "fuck-you" attitude with some actually decent tunes did the job. 3.4/5
