osmark86 06.22.18	What OS are you on? I would go for the second option assuming your system has daily backup points and you have no other data since the last backup point that you need to retain.

osmark86 06.22.18	@Darius: you can get backups in windows which you can restore so sort of difference being it's automatic and not manual like snapshots

osmark86 06.22.18	Ok: first do this. Right click the windows icon on the desktop and select "system". Then click "system protection" (left menu). Check if your drive (c: if that's where your file is). Does it say that protection is on under "protection settings" for that drive?

Papa Universe 06.22.18	I did as the video said and found the "Previous Versions" thingie for the file, but it is still empty. Gonna try that EaseUs thing and if that doesn't work, I'll probably cut my losses.

I have a mild dyslexia where I have trouble determining whether something is the thing I do want to do, or the thing I don't want to do, and the ctrl shortcuts don't give me the appropriate number of steps to sort that out before I push the keys.
