Thanks in advance guys. The album can be pretty cringe at time but purposefully so (unless it's just me being a bad singer, which happens frequently but wasn't on purpose haha)
If it's not for you, that's fine, I don't expect it to be entirely. Just getting my name out there

09.21.18 | Did you use comic sans on the cover? ..... why? |
GreyShadow
09.22.18 | It's based on a gift I was given and that font most appropriately matched it |
Beardog
09.22.18 | honestly you have a nice voice man, albeit a bit whiney. Would be cool if this had some higher production drumming. I feel like this could be a pretty nice record with better production |
JS19
09.22.18 | Yeah man your voice is good but I just really didn't like this - sorry man cos you've got a lot of talent |
GreyShadow
09.22.18 | I'll take that, thanks guys!
I'm still learning the ropes in terms of production and whatnot |

09.22.18 | come on Sput, take a crack at this! |

09.23.18 | I’ll check later but my phone doesn’t do bandcamp very well |

09.23.18 | i mean you sound halfway between ben gibbard and andrew mcmahon which isn't a bad place to be
The one thing I'm really noticing from the first track is just the lack of dynamics, the piano is too loud and overbearing. Since vocals seem to be the most pleasant thing here you need to bring them forward and put the focus on that. Also the texture of the piano is completely monotonous, there's little to no change throughout. Also lose the 'screams' they really just take it out the moment.
The actual songwriting is dcent, but you really need to work on the production aspects. |
Sinternet
09.23.18 | The piano also just sounds really cheap and tinny as well i'm noticing
same with the synths actually, it's almost like a casio keyboard preset and you just don't have the right vibe for that to work
at times this sounds like the first the bunny the bear album which is not flattering unfortunately |

09.23.18 | After skimming my way through I liked 'You Said You Liked The Rain' and 'The Significance Of Train Stations' best, they are easily the most developed structurally. The switch up in tone in the former actually works pretty well and the softer more melodic approach works much better with your vocal style. If you had better production values and made an album in that style throughout I'd say it could be pretty good. |

09.23.18 | Ok you need a better keyboard/synth although you seem to be a decent player. The production like everyone is saying really detracts from the good ideas here. The vocals aren’t my thing at all. Maybe consider adding some more members? |
GreyShadow
09.23.18 | i'm not playing, i'm using the FL Studio presets. i can't play for shit haha.
But thanks, seriously, I appreciate this feedback. Any production tips/places I can learn from? |
GreyShadow
09.23.18 | Down the line I'd rather have a project more geared towards screaming and then something where I can just focus on melody/singing so it's a less jarring thing.
I'd love to find a band too and just work on my voice. Hopefully that comes to fruition at some point. |

09.23.18 | If you can't play an instrument it's usually best to leave it out - because to anyone who can play/knowsn anything about that instrument that fact will jump out and overtake the whole song. Definitely happens with the keyboard stuff here man |

09.24.18 | @JS19, Numerous people told me I'm a good guitar player because the guitars on my record sounds good, while they are midi and I never learned how to play guitar. Yes, I know a little bit of how it works, but just practicing and duplicating what other bands do honestly works wonders. You can easily have an instrument convincingly in a record without knowing how to play it, technology is really developed. If you are just a little musical you can make everything work I think |
Papa Universe
09.24.18 | fucking comic sans? |
JS19
09.24.18 | Okay but it doesn't work lol |
Beardog
09.24.18 | Sad but true yes, but leaving an instrument out cause you can't play it is bullshit. Just depends on if you are creative enough, and tbh, production helps a shit ton in making a record sound convincing |
