| Leslie West live
Hmm. Well this was one more off of my bucket list, 'cause how many more times are you gonna get the chance to see Leslie West live? But like a lot of legends of the '70s, he's way past his prime. There were glimpses of the West of old, and he had a solid band with him. But he's in a wheelchair now (having lost a leg to diabetes), and his finger speed and his memory aren't what they used to be. The crowd was still into, it, though. But left there feeling more sad than exhilarated. He did tell some kind of cool stories of recording with The Who, though. | 1 | | Leslie West Soundcheck | 2 | | Mountain Nantucket Sleighride | 3 | | West, Bruce and Laing Why Dontcha | |

11.11.18 | well what did he play, mostly Mountain, or did he sprinkle in some solo stuff as well | Divaman
11.11.18 | To be honest, he didn't play that much. The show was about an hour and a half max, and he stretched that out with a Q&A session. Then there was a bass solo by Rev Jones the bass player, a drum solo by Bobby Rondinelli the drummer, and a guitar solo by Bobby's brother Teddy Rondinelli, who played the solo as a special guest, but wasn't part of the band. I'm not that familiar with Leslie's solo stuff -- the stuff I recognized was basically Mountain stuff, plus "Why Dontcha" from West, Bruce and Laing. And he kind of butchered "Nantucket Sleighride" -- he got lost part way through and took a while to find his way back. "Theme for an Imaginary Western" and "Mississippi Queen" were better, though. | wham49
11.11.18 | That is too bad, although he is hilarious so probably descent to listen to him answer questions
His solo stuff is ok, not as powerful as Mountain | Divaman
11.12.18 | It would have been better, but he's so friggin' deaf now, he couldn't even hear most of the questions. Someone asked him if he was going to play any Vagrants material. He made him repeat it. He asked again. He made him repeat it. Then Leslie's wife repeated the question. All Leslie could make out was the word "Vagrants". He said, "The Vagrants. Those guys are old!" And that was that. | Divaman
11.12.18 | You were asking for the setlist. Somebody finally filled it in on setlist.fm. Actually, it is mostly Mountain stuff.
