90's metal - Tracks I Liked, part 1
Yeah, the Nineties were an odd time for heavy metal. Here's a largely random list of album/EP opening tracks that you would have caught me rocking out to back in the day.
1
Amorphis
Black Winter Day
1994 - The title track of the EP. Still a winner.
2
Children of Bodom
Something Wild
1997 - "Deadnight Warrior". Can't say I still enjoy Alexi Laiho's musical antics, but this was fun.
3
His Hero Is Gone
The Dead Of Night In Eight Movements
1996 - "Epidemic"
4
Sigh
Hail Horror Hail
1997 - The title track.
5
Lacuna Coil
Lacuna Coil
1998 - "No Need to Explain". Miss Scabbia's vocals stole the show.
6
Dimmu Borgir
Spiritual Black Dimensions
1999 - "Reptile". Never a band known for understating things. Still love to hear ICS Vortex sing.
8
Brutality
Screams of Anguish
1993 - "These Wall Shall Be Your Grave".
9
Mekong Delta
Visions Fugitives
1994 - "Them". Not my favorite MK album, but they were still doing interesting things with thrash.
10
Solstice (USA-FL)
Solstice
1992 - "Transmogrified". Rob Barrett was unstoppable.
11
Dissection
The Somberlain
1993 - "Frozen"
12
Gorguts
The Erosion of Sanity
1993 - "With Their Flesh, He'll Create"
13
The Fucking Champs
III
1997 - "Andre Segovia Interests Me"
14
Buckethead
Day of the Robot
1996 - "Destroyer: Speed Flux Quadrant / Inclusion / Exhaust Release"
15
Obituary
World Demise
1994 - "Don't Care". Also not my favorite Obit album, but this song kills (if it ever got a little motivated).

Good call on 8. Seems overlooked here.

@StrikeOfTheBeast - Screams is an excellent death metal record. I don't think it's ever gotten the respect it deserves.
