mindleviticus
05.01.19 | pikmin |
GreyShadow
05.01.19 | a lot of top tiers on this list. Xenoblade Chronicles is my all time favorite
I wish I liked Nier Automata more. I'm on 9S's playthrough and the game is fine but feels overrated.
I'll probably be checking out FFIX for the first time soon and I'm very excited for that |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | Yo, I'm glad you love Xenoblade. Truly an amazing Wii/3DS jrpg. And I get that, Automata isn't for everyone. |
TheCharmingMan
05.01.19 | Katawa Shoujo is perfect game for sputs like us |
JayEnder
05.01.19 | Donkey Kong Country 3 mostly because of the OST. But it’s a near flawless game and sadly overshadowed by 2. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | I'm a sucker for Bayonetta so when I saw Automata had that style of gameplay mixed with some JRPG elements I knew I'd love it to death. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | Sorry for spamming comments: but to anyone about to play FFIX for the first time, the Switch version is great but the og PSOne game is the way to go imo |
idiotican
05.01.19 | Postal 2 |
Nerdurosis
05.01.19 | Recently picked up World War Z. Good stuff 👍 |
JayEnder
05.01.19 | I’m glad someone acknowledges that, and also Bayonetta is the shit. |
Kusangii
05.01.19 | Props for #9, one of my all time favorite games and soundtracks |
kalkwiese
05.01.19 | I did't play too many video games in my life, but Final Fantasy X was awesome and Undertale is so damn good |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | DKC3 is great. It was actually the first one I played in the trilogy. |
DungeonBoy
05.01.19 | Opinions: Chrono Trigger is the best RPG ever made. Super Metroid is a better Metroidvania than SoTN. Hollow Knight is a better Metroidvania than SoTN. RPGs without turn-based combat aren't as good. Metal Gear Solid might be the best PSX game. Final Fantasy has been on a downward spiral since IX. Celeste is great but overrated. The Soulsborne games are probably the best new gen console games. |
widowslaugh123
05.01.19 | Madden 2003 |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | As much as I love Super Metroid, I don't go back to it as often as SoTN. And I disagree about FF. XII rules and XIII isn't nearly as bad as ppl make it out to be. XV is weird, though. |
Keyblade
05.01.19 | if I was to give a top 10
banjo kazooie
super mario bros 3
kingdom hearts
ocarina of time
pokemon blue
nba street vol 2
rayman origins
final fantasy 7: crisis core
super smash bros (any)
def jam ffny |
Scheumke
05.01.19 | I used to play a lot of games. My favorites remain Uncharted 4, The Last of Us for console; World of Warcraft (yeah I know, still, had over 10 years of fun with that game) for pc. Basically only playing Hearthstone atm. And the first gen Pokemon ofc, that's the stuff of legends. |
DungeonBoy
05.01.19 | @Jiggly, I knew you would bro (;
SoTN has and awesome map, atmosphere, soundtrack, graphics, etc. but the gameplay isn't as fun as SM for me. It's a fantastic game, and a landmark for the genre. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | That's fair. In my case, I preffer the sword play over Samus' gun arm. It just feels more precise in my hands, y'know? I always end up wasting missiles during boss fights lol |
DungeonBoy
05.01.19 | HAVE AT YOU! |
zakalwe
05.01.19 | Dark Souls
Grim Fandango
Monkey Island II
Half Life II
Mass Effect 1-3

Gallantin
05.01.19 | I have 4 favourite "series" which I hold above all others:
Metal Gear Solid
Soulskiroborne
Resident Evil
Devil May Cry
And they're all my favourites for the specific and unique ways in which they individually explore the aspects of game design I love most |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | I love soulsborne games but have to admit I've never beaten one. I own Demon's Souls thru DSIII but idk. I love the games but I usually get stuck after a certain point then beat that part months later. |
Gallantin
05.01.19 | If you're having trouble in any of them there are ways to cheese the games. Like, in Demon's Souls, playing a magic user is easy mode, to the point that with the right spell you can 1-2 shot every boss and enemy in the game. Dark Souls 1 has the pyromancer which is almost just as broken, albeit in different ways. |
Demon of the Fall
05.01.19 | (Mega Drive era) Sonic
(Original) Doom
Quake 2
Pokemon Gold/Silver
Timesplitters 2/Future Perfect
Championship Manager 01-02
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Ratchet & Clank (various)
Fallout 3
Mass Effect 2
Very little gets me going anymore, I need something to give me that nostalgia kick so I just wait for reboots/remakes of old stuff or the occasional brand new game (like the latest Doom, which fortunately was awesome). |
JayEnder
05.01.19 | It’s a shame that most games released nowadays are just Trojan horses for micro transactions. The soul is gone.
Also your title says “ganes” instead of “games” and it’s killing me man lmao. |
Gallantin
05.01.19 | Lots of great games still coming out without microtransactions, just don't rely solely on the AAA industry for your games |
Drifter
05.01.19 | Fallout New Vegas |
protokute
05.01.19 | Bayonetta makes me feel uncomfortable in a bad way, so I never got to enjoy it....
My favorites are Team Fortress 2 (s2), Half Life 2, Bioshock, GTA San Andreas (also s2), Resident Evil 4, Skyrim, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, Assassin's Creed 2, Red Dead Redemption...
And the most recent ones, I've enjoyed are Stardew Valley, Dark Souls 1,2 and 3 (2 is the one I most enjoyed, and I'm currently playing 3), Hollow Knight, Dusk, Amid Evil, Cuphead (which I haven't played again in a long time), Witcher 3, Wizard of Legend, and there's an indie game, that I found to be really therapeutic for me and enjoyed playing it a lot which is called Hidden Folks, where you need to find certain objects or people in certain areas, very charming and simple game. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.01.19 | Lmao i just noticed ganes. |
DungeonBoy
05.01.19 | @Jiggly, have you tried gitting gud though? |

05.01.19 | Dark Souls can be very.... unnerving.. I know, it's not a perfect game as a lot of people seem to say around, the mechanics can be very frustrating, but the feeling after passing a boss is amazing... just try to keep out of the game for a while and come back later, it certainly helped for me. I passed a whole afternoon trying to kill Ornstein and Smough in DS1, and almost gave up of the game, but the next morning I tried killing them again, and got it on my second try. |
AnimalsAsSummit
05.01.19 | favorite games of all time: halo: combat evolved and Rez
runners up: metroid prime (gamecube), p.n.03, animal crossing, pikmin |
Donchivo
05.01.19 | Snake, rattle and roll! Anyone remembering the first ever 3d game on that 8 bit Nintendo? |
rabidfish
05.01.19 | i don't play many video-games, and most of the ones i play i play for a short while (1 or 2 weeks) and the get bored, but i have 2 games that stuck with me for ages:
Katamari Damacy: i can't think of any other piece of media (movie, book or others) that has had more of an impact on my aesthetic choices, my personality and my general philosophy on life. This game has been a teacher, a life-coach for me and i say it without a hint of irony. The gift that keeps on giving.
Silent Hill series, especially 1 and 2. I rather play these games than go to 80% of the art museums i've been in my life. This shit is pure, untainted, art. Such beauty in every aspect of it. Sound direction and the OSTs, especially the work on 1, are a golden standard for me on creating a soundscape that feels real and alive, not only in games but every piece of media that requires sound. |
JohnnyoftheWell
05.01.19 | Yay Automata love, that score is god-tier and has some of my absolute favourite motifs of any music |

05.01.19 | A lot of oldhead shooter shit, faves are probably Doom, Quake 1-3, Duke Nukem 3D, Soul Calibur 2, Timesplitters: future perfect, Super smash bros melee, Disgaea , CS:GO, Devil daggers |
J() Alexander
05.01.19 | Yume Nikki, Dark Souls and Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition are top 3 and that will never change, I appreciate them almost far more than any other game. Other than those, other favorites are:
Demon's Souls
.flow
Resident Evil (REmake 1)
Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
Rain World
Castlevania: Order of Eclessia
Okami
Deus Ex |
Saros
05.01.19 | Katamari Damacy/We Love Katamari are the only games you need. Nah, but in actuality, there's so many good games that it's harder for me to list my favorites, probably more so than albums lmao. If I had to specifically narrow it down to a few favorites, I'd probably go with We Love Katamari, Guilty Gear XX, Persona 3: FES, F-Zero GX, Devil May Cry 3, Yakuza 0, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night... there's probably a few I'm missing, but these are the ones that are always at the top of my head whenever I'm listing my favorites. |
Sinternet
05.01.19 | team fortress 2 is my numero uno, other top picks would be just cause 2, gta iv, civilization v, spec ops: the line, battlefront 2 (2005 one), mass effect 2, dragonquest ix and super mario galaxy
recent faves would be a hat in time, oxenfree and subnautica

Doibhin69
05.01.19 | the best game ever is witcher 3 |
DungeonBoy
05.01.19 | lol is it though? I heard so much about how awesome it was, finally bought it last month, played for about 10 hours and put it down cause I couldn't get into the:
1.) Super stiff controls, hack and slash gameplay
2.) Item management/weapon upgrading/purchasing etc.
3.) Gerald's entire demeanor. He has the personality of a stick. |

05.01.19 | Can someone talk to me about how Kingdom Hearts 3 was a disappointment cause damn. I like the game, really I do, but no FF characters? No Sephiroth battle? Hell, absolutely ZERO end game content. The addition of Critical mode was really nice, but apart from that there’s no reason to return to the game. |

05.28.19 | @Jigglydiggly "So as someone who loves Dark Souls but has yet to beat one...I really love how Sekiro looks. Should I pick it up?"
I'm in the same boat, but friends who love the soulsborne series have said it is so hard they've gotten stuck for too long at certain bosses but had to put it down.
That being said, I started playing FFV this weekend thanks to your posting. I never played it back in the day due to it being unavailable in NA, but finally dusted off that translated ROM for a spin. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.28.19 | The translated rom is awesome! Honestly, I love the IOS port so much...which is weird cuz IOS ports usually suck. GBA version is def the best tho (the IOS version is basically that) |
JigglyPDiddy
05.28.19 | @DungeonBoy: I'm glad I turned you on to FFV cuz it's very overlooked when it comes to core FF. The story is a little bit on the lighthearted side (which I like) but the gameplay is the key winning factor here. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.28.19 | And that's crazy! I heard it was hard but for some weird reason I was lead to believe Sekiro was easier than DS/BB. |
JigglyPDiddy
05.28.19 | Oh and about the FFV IOS port... If you can get over touch controls (which feel good here imo) and the remastered sprites, it's pretty much the best version of the game |
JigglyPDiddy

06.14.19 | "RDR2"everything up to and including chapter 3, yeah i could see it as a top 10 game, but holy fuck does it get repetitive and dull after that."
It's repetitive and dull from the very beginning. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but Rockstar's main mission design is fucking garbage. Every mission is a hyper-railroaded shooting gallery with no choice. |
Gallantin
06.14.19 | I wish there was a game like Red Dead 2 that focused on the sandbox aspect of the open world, the hunting, the survival, etc. All the side missions are pretty good, too.
I just wish the combat was less arcade-like and more serious. I wanna play a version of Red Dead where you can rob a train in the middle of nowhere without somehow alerting the cops 800 miles away with your exact name and location. I wanna play a version of Red Dead where shootouts are life or death serious scenarios rather than just random collections of infiniteltly spawning cannon fodder for you to mow down in seconds. I wish Red Dead 2 was so much more than the outdated design and poorly implemented systems it was. |

06.14.19 | Good morning, sputtbutts. I wrote the thing about ARPGs in a migraine stupor. Lol Anywho, I think someone in this comment sect said ARPGs are inherently bad or sumthin' |
JigglyPDiddy

JigglyPDiddy
06.14.19 | (Don't mean that whole game is bad...the chocobos and open world rule...the battle system not so much...) |
ramon.
06.14.19 | @gallantin I like those three series too (less so Pokemon but still) though I find they typically have a lot more to offer than that which is often central to more traditional JRPGs. While I have had fun with stuff like Bravely Default in the past, it is hard to stay interested when the game is essentially built around clicking through drop down menus to make the health numbers do the thingy. At least in Persona, there's a whole other side to the game that's just as (and often more) enjoyable than the core combat loops. |
JigglyPDiddy
06.14.19 | Yakuza is a game series I've always wanted to try as a sega fan. Persona I've played all the games in the series...never beaten any of them tho?..!! So yeah. Pokémon is very near and dear to me especially Crystal and B2/W2 |
GreyShadow
06.14.19 | i just finished Nier (ending E) the other day and mehhh. the game felt so pointless to me and the combat didn't feel particularly special. it's nice aesthetically until it gets kinda boring on your second playthrough. the third playthrough was by far the best one but it still didn't amount to anything as groundbreaking as I thought it would |

06.14.19 | Yakuza 0 is incredible and I highly recommend it as your starting point for Yakuza. It's not as weird as the others and is just straight up compelling crime drama |

06.15.19 | Majora's Mask is the best soundtrack ever imo and probably my favorite video game of all time. Every time I hear Astral Observatory I feel a deep sense of nostalgia and it makes me want to cry.
Majora's Mask was the last thing my grandfather bought me in 2000. He was the man who raised me as a boy when my mother and father were busy working, and I was playing this game when I was informed of his death. It's very strange, but I don't believe there will ever be a time when I don't have a file of that game active. I still have the exact same game cartridge and the same N64 that I received for Christmas 23 years ago, and I just completed my first 3 day cycle last week on a number playthrough that must be in the triple digits at this point.
I'm not much of a video game guy, but that's one I'll love forever. My personality is such that I'd rather be in the wilderness or in a social setting than alone playing a game. When I do have time to kill, however, I turn on my N64 from time to time and play Majora's Mask. I play Ocarina of Time as well occasionally. |

Sure does diminish the likelihood of it though especially if it didn't sell well |

06.19.19 | "budg I'm not super familiar but I thought the project was much smaller scale than the 'Definitive Edition' full remasters?"
the AOM remaster came alongside an expansion pack with a new civ set (chinese), along with updated gfx and balance changes. more or less what happened with aoe2:hd. aoe2:de just looks like a remaster 2.0, probably because aoe2:hd was/is pretty popular. so.. looking at it, aoe2:hd on steam is showing a 9k players average over 30 days, aom:ee is showing 900 player average over 30 days, and fuck, ron:ee is showing 500 player average. i guess it's possible they planned an initial HD-remaster and then a follow up HD-remaster-remake for both titles but it's just a headache, lol. i think it's more likely they just decided to remake the aoe2 remaster because the initial remaster was successful and there's more money to be had from the title, and it would surprise me if they decide to bother with a remake of the aom remaster |
Gallantin
06.19.19 | So I should just buy the AoM on Steam rn and not wait for a new remaster then? |
budgie
06.19.19 | pretty sure you'd get a discount for a new remaster if it does come, if you already have purchased the first remaster from 2014
just scoped this from their aoe2:de FAQ Q:
"Is there going to be an Age of Mythology Q: Definitive Edition or Age of Mythology II?"
A: "We haven’t forgot our Myth fans, though we can’t talk about our future plans for the Myth franchise at this time. Be sure to follow our social channels for information when it becomes available." |
Gallantin
06.19.19 | If I end up in the AoE mood I'll end up buying it regardless. I have too many games to play right now, anyway. And with the next half a year releasing well over ten games I am dying to play, I am gonna have a fucking hell of a time trying to buy and play all these games. Still trying to figure out how I can buy Crash Team Racing, Judgment, Bloodstained, and Mario Maker 2 in the same two week timeframe without giving up food for a month. |

06.19.19 | I'm finally reaching the point in my life where I have to worry about how long games are. When I hear a game is only 15 hours long, while all the Gamers are crying, I'm celebrating the fact that I don't need to desperately try to find 100 hours of spare time to play something. I really tend to favour a lot of pick up and play games now, stuff I can just pick up and enjoy for 15 minutes or an hour without any hassle. |

06.19.19 | Oh and don't forget Sayonara Umihara Kawase. A great and underrated gem. |
Prancer
06.19.19 | The Witcher 3, Dishonored, Hollow Knight, Celeste, Pokemon LG/FR, Pokemon SS/HG, Gears of War 1 & 3, Halo 2 & 3, The Talos Principle, Sekiro, Half-Life 2, Portal 2, Skate 2, The Wolf Among Us, Destiny, Fable 2, LIMBO, Super Meat Boy |
Gyromania
06.19.19 | Agh I forgot about Celeste. Definitely a 10/10. Limbo is up there for me too. I'm actually just like 3 seconds off the world record time for the speedrun. And YES Prancer, Talos Principle deserves all the love, esp the dlc. I would also add Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon to my list, Enslaved Odyssey to the West, Super Metroid, Nier Automata, and Silent Hill 2. |

06.19.19 | Owners of AoE2HD will get a discount for AoE2DE (which won't be that expensive to start with I gather), so I agree with budg Gallantin just go ahead and buy the remake, if by chance they do happen to rework AoM you should get a discount the same way
Thanks for digging up the numbers budgie. I did think AoM was less played than AoE2 since the latter gets lots more coverage, but yeah 10x is a pretty stark difference. If there's no money in it they likely won't commit to a full on DE rework - which is more work than making better looking sprites and adding a few civs. Can probably expect an expansion here and there I reckon though. But yeah for that I'm happy to be in the AoE bucket |

just received persona 5, might try that next. first manga/J style video game unless you count pokemon |
DungeonBoy
06.28.19 | Jiggly! I've been playing FFV and honestly think it's fantastic. The story might not be as good as IV, but the gameplay is so much better with the job classes. I love it, but I need some advice on jobs and job combos. Which ones are worth building up and what makes good combos? My main builds are the obvious staples, knight, white, black, ninja, but what did you find to be hidden gems in the job dept? I just got hunter & bard FYI |
JigglyPDiddy
06.28.19 | @DungeonBoy: [pt. 1] I'm glad you're enjoying V! Personally, I really enjoy the Blue Mage/Knight combo for Bartz... |

06.28.19 | just got gifted Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night as an early birthday gift. gonna be playing the fuck out of that tn. |
JigglyPDiddy
06.28.19 | [Pt. 2] For Lenna I usually go Red Mage. For Galuf I go Monk. And for Farris I tried Knight/Mystic Knight this time around. Also I'm leveling Bartz up as a ninja too. |
JigglyPDiddy
06.28.19 | [Pt. 3] As time goes on you'll wanna level up all the jobs. |
JigglyPDiddy
06.28.19 | I'm not too familiar with the class combos since I've trying to listen to my gut about what to specialize each character in. I did Bartz as a blue mage cuz I love the little outfit he puts on lol |

Start scouting. |

06.29.19 | Bloodstained should be coming in the mail sometime next week. Looking forward to playing that. I also gotta buy Judgment, Samurai Shodown, and Mario Maker 2 sometime before even more games drop next month. I got CTR last week and should be playing it but I'm also back on my Sekiro bullshit again, 100%ing it after leaving it for so long. |
Keyblade
06.29.19 | lmao Ghost that sounds fun
speaking of LeBron, I found my old copy of nba 2k6 in a suitcase which is my favorite bball game, and they had LeBron's form on point even back then, it was unparalleled at the time. ran EA out of the game |

06.29.19 | Kaiwaz - You're not.
I don't know what my top 10 games of all time would be, but I know what would be on the list (in ABC Order):
- Chrono Trigger
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2
- Metal Gear Solid
- Metroid Prime
- Pokemon Gold
- SimCity 4
- SSX 3
- Super Mario World
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
- Xenoblade Chronicles
Xenoblade Chronicles would be my top JRPG if not for Chrono Trigger. And there are some indie games that I would let seep into my heart...namely Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest. |
Gallantin
06.29.19 | Multiple people in the thread have said they like Chrono Trigger lol its like one of the most universally loved JRPGs ever |

06.29.19 | Dead Space 2 is the GOAT. |

06.29.19 | My favorite game that I've played in the past few years is TLOU, which is a pretty basic bitch choice but it was simply a spectacular game and given the amount of time they've invested in making the sequel I expect nothing less than another masterpiece coming our way next year. |
Masochist
06.30.19 | "Anyone have a favorite game from the past 3 years or so?"
Persona 5 and Nier: Automata immediately come to mind. Both of them were phenomenal. Also, a lot of Switch games (which I don't own). I imagine a lot of people can probably say Breath of the Wild would fit the bill, too. |
Saros
06.30.19 | Persona 5, Yakuza 0, Smash Ultimate and Devil May Cry 5 have been my recent faves of the last few years. I liked Breath of the Wild but didn't get that far into it, and I bought Nier: Automata but haven't even started it yet. One day I will, eventually. |
Wubs
06.30.19 | Ah nice, don't really play but most of todays big budget games look cheesy. Persona looks like fun |

Saros
07.03.19 | I have fond memories with the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. I legit teared up the first time I completed Blue Rescue Team, that ending was too much for me as a kid. Explorers of Time/Darkness had a pretty good ending too, but I think I liked Blue/Red Rescue Team's ending more, even if I prefer Time/Darkness overall. I wish I didn't skip out on Explorers of Sky, as it seems that's the best version of the second Mystery Dungeon games and has some worthwhile extra content. |

07.03.19 | yh the story was feels but the gameplay was like hours-long sleep paralysis |

07.04.19 | for anyone with an iphone who likes 2D fighting games, check out flappy fighter. probably the only fighting game ive played on a mobile touch screen that is just as responsive and accurate as its arcade stick/console pad counterparts. manages to squeeze an incredible amount of depth into just four attack buttons and two movement buttons. you can only play as one character each week (based off of street fighter characters) but the payoff is every week you get treated to a litany of insane combo videos on twitter for which ever character is rostered on. funny little gimmick that while less than optimal gives the small dev team time to add new content to the game slowly. only game i have on my phone. |

Demon of the Fall
07.10.19 | I should play Divnity, or maybe that Nier game. Open to options for when I finally get through Persona 5. I'm 70 hours in and the end is (presumably) still some way off based on a few in-game 'clues'. I generally take my time with RPGs, but this is getting silly now. Enjoying it though. |

07.10.19 | Never tried it. I download all my games so I don't think I can even do that lol.
Lemon, Divinity is also a looooong ass game. I wouldn't start it after another long ass game |

anarchistfish
07.11.19 | ah cool im like 10 hrs into persona 5 and im digging it but it's like when are they gonna let me roam free |
Demon of the Fall
07.11.19 | Some of it is a little slow/story heavy. Personally, I also preferred it a bit later once more of the game-play options opened up. It never goes full-on open world/do what the hell you like etc. but there is definitely more freedom later. |
DungeonBoy
07.11.19 | I had to stop playing Divinity on the ps4 because inventory management (really everything) sucks with a PS4 controller instead of a mouse/keyboard |
JigglyPDiddy
07.11.19 | Persona 5 feels like an overbloated and padded mess...I do like it. The battle system is the best of the modern Personas and bringing back Demon talk was awesome. |
JigglyPDiddy
07.11.19 | But it does feel slow...idk I'm not a big fan of P4's pacing either so whatevs. More of a Dragon Quest gal. |
Chortles
07.11.19 | never really felt P5 drag but when it was close to the end i felt p ready for it to be done. to be honest i felt P4's length much more even though it's probably ~30 hours shorter -- the battle system and more fleshed out dungeon designs did wonders to keep things feeling more fresh |
kevbogz
07.11.19 | doing a playthrough of KOTOR rn, quite nostalgic |
Saros
07.11.19 | P5 is one of the best Persona games in terms of gameplay, but yeah, the story does drop in some parts. If Atlus can make a Persona game with the gameplay of P5 and the story of P1-P2 then that would be super neat. The P2 duology probably has the best story in the series, but the gameplay isn't nearly as polished. Not as bad as P1 though imo, P1's gameplay really shows its age. |

07.12.19 | "I had to stop playing Divinity on the ps4 because inventory management (really everything) sucks with a PS4 controller instead of a mouse/keyboard"

07.12.19 | I remember trying the old school Persona games in high school. I really liked 2 (psp and ps1). The first one was super tedious, tho. |
Gallantin
07.12.19 | I've never tried playing a point and click RPG like Divinity on a console but I imagine the gamepad makes it far less intuitive. I'd suggest just playing it on PC with mouse and keyboard. Usually I'm the first person to defend consoles and gamepads against PC gremlins, but some games really are just built better for the m&k

07.12.19 | While I definitely agree mouse and keyboard is the way to go for shooters, it’s very encouraging that more shooters on console are getting gyro support. Bit of a step back from the original Wii’s sensor system but it’s still a massive improvement over just using analogue sticks. |

Demon of the Fall
07.12.19 | The only other Persona I've played is that 3DS one, but yeah the battle system and all things surrounding it is what's keeping me going. The story is a drag at times, I feel like there are too many instances where you just get funnelled along the story screens for what seems like eternity. I hate those parts in between the palaces, but whenever you have a current mission and deadline it's mostly fine, as you can choose what to do each day. |

07.12.19 | NICE list Punch, I am impressed with some deep cuts there like Soukyugurentai.
don't get me started on the saturn, has the greatest import library of any console. it is a 2d beast, but it was marketed as a primarily 3d console in the states and that didn't go well because the 3d processing was added last minute and not the focus. Astal is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen. Pu·Li·Ru·La brings me joy |

07.12.19 | Grandia is another underrated classic, another perfect ps1 rpg. probably 3rd best after Cross and FFIX |
