04.28.20 | OK, I know Ridley Scott is a much-esteemed director, and Alien had all kinds of artistic flairs that the low-budget Phantasm couldn't even hope to. (I'm also aware that a lot of the acting in Phantasm sucked.) But while I can't really claim with a straight face that Phantasm is a better movie, I can definitely say this - I'll always like Phantasm better. Now if we were pitting Cameron's Aliens against Phantasm, that would be a whole different story. |
