wham49 05.15.20	Found GB in a little record shop I frequent when I’m in Lake Geneva WI, a resort town about an hour north of Chicago. They had a little clutch if these, I picked to 2 i thought looked the best, when I went back I wanted to grab a couple more but they were gone. This is good old school no frills folk, Americana really Meek, don’t eat your hat, I never need to win, just like all the recs I get being in these tournaments
Jethro42 05.15.20	Both artists sound familiar to me. Harrod sounds like kinda the male version of Indigo Girls, and Gordon Bok reminds me of Felix Leclerc, a famous local singer songwriter from Quebec - R.I.P.

DoofDoof 05.16.20	These two picks are more what I expected from this Sput comp...first a 'new school' recent-ish typical folk release (which happens to be a live album) and secondly an 'old school' trad folk release with songs called `The Legend of the Handsome Cabin Boy' or 'My favourite sheep of the Thirty I owned last September' or what have you. Both are fine, I'll give the edge to the Funck soul brothers, though Bok can really play. Harrod and Funck - 3.5 Gordy Bok - 3.5 My official vote goes to Harrod and Funck

Jethro42 05.16.20	Just like Bono from U2, Harrod's singing is really close to distorting in times. It's a good singer who simply takes some risks with his voice. ''After All These Years'' is such a great song (among others) Gordon's first song is so great, so comforting. It's gonna be a tough call for me.

Divaman 05.17.20	OK, I'm ready to vote. I found the Harrod and Funck pleasant enough, but kind of generic. The guitarist is quite good. The vocals are fine, but don't really excite me. And the songwriting seemed OK, but again, a little bland. (And the one about the guy who eats his leg is just weird.) I liked Gordon Bok. Like I said, he sounded like a mix between Pete Seeger and Gordon Lightfoot - I really like his voice. For me this was a pretty clear choice. My vote is for Gordon Bok. (Sorry neeka - I read your review, and I know that the Harrod and Funck is kind of a special one for you.)

Harrod is the superior singer I think. 2.9 Fave tracks: Carolina and Grasshopper Gordon Bok was a pleasant folk listen if not a bit archaic for its time. 3.0 Fave Tracks: Lowlands and Traveling People

Jethro42 05.21.20	Harrod is kinda summer music. It's very warm and melodic. It's just that I find it redundant and linear. I mean the more I listen to it, the more I'm getting bored. Bok manages to entertain me the most. I'd like some harmonica here and there, but I agree with what wham just said; Simple, subtle and sober, but mind blowing delivery. I go with Bok
