Check em'
Updated with a couple more. | 1 | | Smile Maquee
The soaring riff halfway through Moosh hits me like a swinging axe in Sen's Fortress; truly incredible. Lots of good tracks here, Moosh, Rock Anthem for the Retarded Teenage Hipster Population, Staring at the Sun..., She are good ones to check out | 2 | | Hayden Everything I Long For
Need something to change your mood for the course of the day? Need to cry, but don't have the right stimuli? Spin this. If you feel nothing listening to Skates or When This is Over, you're not human. | 3 | | Agents of Oblivion Agents of Oblivion
Fans of Acid Bath are already probably familiar with this one, but either way, nice slab of swamp rock with the best opening track of any album I've ever heard, and damn it, I mean it. | 4 | | Goatsnake Goatsnake Vol. 1
Headsplitting, really awesome vocals; What Love Remains and the opener, Slippin the Stealth are nasty | 5 | | Element Eighty Mercuric
Its thick and chunky, its got some nu metal sensibilities, but I'll be damned if this isn't better than a lot of their contemporaries who had far more successful careers. Lyrics are a little much, but it unfortunately comes with the territory. | 6 | | Forever In Terror Restless In The Tides
Metalcore; need more listens to decide where I'm at with this, but for the time I think its pretty good; enjoyable riffs, drums | 7 | | Sweet Valley SV
Electronic, lots of trap sensibilities; if you like this, check out their Eternal Champ, lots of cool gaming samples put to use | 8 | | Cire Wholesale Buyout
Used to see Cire recommended a lot for APC fans, so I checked them (actually one guy behind this project) out, and was really pleased. Edge of Consciousness is a standout here; lots of philospohical flourishes in the lyrics, but not in a way I find pretentious | 9 | | Austra Feel It Break
First heard the track "Beat and the Pulse" and was hooked right away; dark and groovy synth-pop | 10 | | Strata Strata
That great alt rock band you never heard | 11 | | Revis Places For Breathing
That other great alt rock band you never heard, that only released one album | |

04.23.21 | Shucks | Demon of the Fall
04.23.21 | As a big fan of Acid Bath I didn’t find Agents all that remarkable. Maybe I should check again. | TheWr3tched
04.23.21 | I think that's totally fair, honestly; they're a fair sight different. I just don't know what it is about Endsmouth; hits me unlike any other. | parksungjoon
04.23.21 | brainchild - mindwarp | GhandhiLion
04.23.21 | most of the albums | TheWr3tched

04.23.21 | This is Sputnik. | TheWr3tched
04.23.21 | I did lurk, but without an account; I don't like rating stuff unless I give it a re-listen front to back; don't want to rate based on years-old feelings. You have my word that I will continue rating. | parksungjoon
04.23.21 | good lad, thats how i do things as well | TheWr3tched
04.23.21 | Seriously, what an on-point rec; I hopped back to Circle of Dust's debut, gonna start there. Instantly connected with this. | Grimlin
04.24.21 | "brainchild - mindwarp" Fuck yes, awesome album
"I hopped back to Circle of Dust's debut, gonna start there" Be sure to listen to the '92 version first. The versions from '94 and on are a bit different, and I'm not too big a fan of em. Though, a lot prefer the revamped version. Just better to here the original first, imo | TheWr3tched
04.24.21 | Yeah, I actually went to the original recording first; apparently Klayton hates it, but I compared it to the reissue and the remaster, and I like it more than both of them. | Grimlin
04.24.21 | I do, too. He did the same with Brainchild - Mindwarp as well. The '94 version became Circle of Dust - Brainchild. Also not a huge fan of the revamp here either, but again, a lot of folks prefer them. You should also check out Argyle Park. It's more Klayton in a similar vein, albeit a bit more experimental, of Brainchild/Circle of Dust | combustion07
04.24.21 | Cool list man. Welcome to the sput! I haven't heard any of these but I've bookmarked it and plan to run through them | TheWr3tched
04.24.21 | Thanks man! Appreciate it; hope you enjoy at least some of it! | TheWr3tched
05.06.21 | Slapped on a couple more | parksungjoon
05.06.21 | u might like skrew if ur into industrial metal | TheWr3tched
05.06.21 | I will definitely take a look/listen; appreciate it | TheWr3tched
05.06.21 | The use of the file select screen music from Ocarina of Time hooked me way back when I first listened to that; ashamed to say I haven't listened to any of their newer projects | parksungjoon
05.06.21 | if u like gojira u might like the band scarred havent heard their new one tho | TheWr3tched
05.06.21 | @Park, wow, Lohner huh? Somehow I completely avoided Skrew despite my NIN obsession; kind of funny that a founder of Skrew was heavily involved in Nails...poetic in a really stupid way. | TheWr3tched
05.11.21 | Added a few more |
