Two Years, Bitches!
Favourite 25 albums. I thought my music tastes have really expanded (and they have) but my list is still dominated by bands I knew of before I came here. Maybe time will change my mind. |
1 | | Underoath Lost In The Sound of Separation
I have no idea how it did it, but it's wormed its way up to become my favourite album of all time. Considering I first gave it only a 3/5 thats impressive. |
2 | | Deftones White Pony
Only recently rousted from its spot of favourite, I just never get bored of this album. |
3 | | The Butterfly Effect Imago
I know most people who've heard this will disagree but I just find it an amazing emotional journey. |
4 | | Kamelot The Black Halo
The perfect power metal album. Threatens to get old, but never actually does. |
5 | | Protest The Hero Kezia
Another relatively recent find thats scaled the ladders of my musical heart. Still finding new things with every listen. |
6 | | R.E.M. Automatic For The People
My first real band I listened to (I'm obviously not counting boy bands *cringes*). Nightswimming is probably my favourite song of all time. |
7 | | Counting Crows Hard Candy
My sound of summer, invariably manages to lighten my mood. Despite what you might think, this is actually a sputnik album. |
8 | | Bloc Party A Weekend In The City
Another one alot of people will vehemently disagree on, but to me this is Bloc Party at their best. Complex drum beats, good production values, immense emotion. |
9 | | Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
For some reason the cover of this CD put me off for a long time, I thought it would be just some elitist, arty music. Boy was I wrong. |
10 | | Revis Places For Breathing
Undeniably generic, mainstream rock. But I love it anyway. |
11 | | Thrice The Alchemy Index Vols. III and IV...
Earth disk is ridiculously good. And the Air disk has some of the best lyrics Thrice has produced. |
12 | | Karnivool Themata
Complex, groovy Australian music lead by an exquisite voice. Hoorah. |
13 | | 10 Years The Autumn Effect
Proclaimed by many as Tool rip-offs. My problem with that is that 10 Years completely lacks the pretensiousness (as well as the technicality), but have a better lead singer. The last song is best heard through earphones while standing in the rain. |
14 | | Coldplay Parachutes
Another of my first bands I listened to, this remains my favourite album by them. Don't Panic is an extremely good song. |
15 | | Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I - IV |
16 | | In Flames Clayman
The riffs on this album are stupendously cool. Swim remains my fav riff of all time. |
17 | | The Killers Hot Fuss
This was basically my soundtrack when I went to England for a month earlier this year. |
18 | | Keane Hopes & Fears
Another early band for me. This album blows all subsequent ones they've done out of the water. |
19 | | Linkin Park Hybrid Theory
Yeah, yeah, I know, its Linkin Park, instantly makes the list worthless. Well, I disagree. This album never ever gets old for me. The perfect showcase of angst, and when I'm feeling angsty, its still a great listen. |
20 | | Scar Symmetry Holographic Universe
I'm not sure if it should be here as I've only been listening to it for a week or so, but its so damn good. |
21 | | Black Light Burns Cruel Melody
Who'd have thought a dude from Limp Bizkit would make something this good? |
22 | | Deftones Saturday Night Wrist
The only band that appears twice! So psyched for Eros. |
23 | | Jimmy Eat World Bleed American
Pop rock at its absolute finest. |
24 | | Lion King OST Album
CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT? ITS ENOUGH FOR KINGS AND VANGABONDS... |
25 | | Evanescence Fallen
This is here purely for sentimental value. I don't actually think its particularly great musically, but I associate it with some strong memories. |
