07.08.23 | ohhhh I gotcha! well, I'd encourage you to do ng+ sometime. you have the option then to give Kuro a 'charm' that changes gameplay significantly (the way Miyazaki supposedly *wanted* the game to be played, but it'd be too hardcore): you take chip damage from blocking and only perfect parries don't chip at your health. lots of fun! |

07.08.23 | Oh wow interesting! First time a played I got to the last boss which I think was ishin sword saint and gave up after like 50 tries. So I'm playing through fresh again. Adoring the game so won't be surprised if I can actually beat it this time I'll try that, thanks for the tip! |

07.08.23 | Indeed! It's crazy how much better I'm feeling this go around. I really feel like I have the rhythm down better and being agressive while knowing when to back off. Also utilizing the side step/step dodge and lot more this time for positioning. Game is so fun! |

07.08.23 | unfathomably tight combat for real. not my fav FS game but its combat eclipses Souls'n'roll fightin' imo. what I would do for a Sekiro-type with greater exploration, judicious use of RPG elements/stats, but solidly grounded in that simple swordplay/gadgets loop |

07.08.23 | While first playthrough are always special, I love replaying FromSoft games bc you remember different things that help you progress faster and you feel more confident. Just restarted Elden Ring yesterday, played about 3 hours and beat Margot and Morne Castle. Honestly never beat Sekiro (got stuck on final boss too), so I’d love to return to that world. |

07.09.23 | Brutal game. Sword Saint actually made me cry because he was so difficult lmao.
Took me like 6 hours using the Umbrella prosthetic technique. Soon as that fucker starts hurling the lightning at you in his third phase all bets are off. At that point I just had to take him down with the circle poke method, no regrets. Wanted to finish him with the epic lightning reversal but nah, couldn't bare fighting Genichiro and his first two phases again for the thousandth time. |

07.09.23 | Don’t think I have it in me to replay this one. Only one I haven’t played multiple times other than original demon souls (haven’t played the remake at all). Not that I dislike it, it’s amazing, the mechanics are just too much for my slow old man brain now. I really had to brute force my way through the game the first time and I gave up on ishiin the sword saint cuz I just wasn’t having fun banging my head against that wall anymore. |

07.09.23 | Ya I had to play it like a traditional soulsborne which meant circle poke the fuck out of bosses and enemies that were terribly impractical to circle poke. It took a reaaalllllyy long time to kill some of these guys hahaha |

07.09.23 | Lmaooo no shame honestly, same here dude. Some of the fucking mini bosses were harder than actual full fledged bosses. Snake Eyes in the poison pool was pure evil, never raged harder in my life than that godforsaken area.
I know the game wants you to master parrying and to not show any hesitation, but what's the point if most of the enemies' posture bar is practically unbreakable lol |
