09.07.23 | no
also aqua teen movie is great. |

09.07.23 | Some good shit here
Shark Tale |
Trebor.
09.07.23 | wtf Gremlins 2's reception was muted at the time, never bad. It's been reevaluated now, but it was never considered dreck like the fucking doom 2005 movie
All these other movies are trash except aqua teen |
Wildcardbitchesss
09.07.23 | Some solid takes
T3 and Salvation, while obviously not being genre defining masterpieces like the first two, are very good imo. Really wish they would’ve continued with Bale as John Connor.
And Matrix Resurrections is my second favorite of those movies. I don’t even wanna hear an argument against it. Reloaded and Revolutions are so far up their own asses it’s infuriating. Reloaded has incredible freeway sequence and that’s about it. Revolutions just sucks. At least Resurrections is self aware about how nonsensical it is. Bad fight choreography is my biggest complaint about that movie but I still think it’s solid.
One for me is Quantum of Solace. It’s miles behind No Time to Die, Skyfall, and Casino Royale but it’s far from the trainwreck that is Spectre. Movie has a good Bond girl in Camille, Dominic Greene isn’t nearly as good as Le Chiffre, and isn’t even in the same league as Silva but he’s much better than Safin and Blofeld. Again, my biggest complaint is the action sequences, but not the fight choreography. You can’t tell what the fuck is going on half the time because of shaky cam bullshit. Again tho, I like everything else about it. I think people were just really disappointed that we got a “good” movie and not a masterpiece like Casino Royale.
Oh and Prometheus is good. Prob my favorite Alien movie behind the first two. |
Trebor.
09.07.23 | Quantum of Solace has perhaps the worst shot action scenes ever in a big budget movie. Also by far the lamest bond villain |

09.07.23 | Might do a reverse list about critically acclaimed movies that I don’t like, because I can think of two off the dome that get a physical reaction from people when I tell them I don’t like them:
Shawshank and American History X. Both are mediocre as fuck. It’s funny too, because growing up I thought those movies were incredible and fancied myself a cinephile. But nope, watching them as an adult has shown that Shawshank is overly sentimental bullshit and American History X just pretty much boils down to “racism is bad: the movie”. There is zero nuance to any of the characters in that film.
The only big compliments I can give to those films is that they are extremely well acted. Edward Norton, Tim Robbins, and Morgan Freeman and most of the supporting cast completely save those movies. |

09.07.23 | @trebor
Yes he is incredibly lame. He’s a sniveling little coward and that’s what makes him a compelling character.
And I can accept you thinking he’s the weakest of the Craig era, but all time Bond villains? No shot. He’s objectively middle of the pack if not top 10 depending on if you consider the variations of Blofeld as separate villains |

09.07.23 | shawshank sucks yeah |

09.07.23 | Matrix Resurrections was fun especially in theaters. Seeing that big fight on the big screen was what made it for me. I liked all the Matrix films except Revolutions. I haven't seen that one, but judging from what I seen in some reviews, it didn't look all that interesting to me. Plus they just kind of got rid of that big story they for Neo to become the one and gave it to Trinity. I mean I love Trinity but I thought there could of been a better way to make both of them the one without burying Neo. |
Wildcardbitchesss
09.07.23 | preach. I hate it so much because everyone rides it’s dick and I think it’s literally the highest rated movie of all time on IMDB? Fucking nonsense. Mid at best. American History X I would at least call good, but again, so overrated. That movie wasn’t even Edward Norton’s best movie of that year. |
Trebor.
09.07.23 | Shawshank is not the best movie ever made but it rules. American History X is one I have a hard time taking seriously. I understand why people feel that way about Shawshank though |
rabidfish
09.07.23 | Hulk 2003 is a good movie with shit CGI. The editing is cool.
I like T3, it's got a nice enough twist at the end. Fun movie. |
MeatSalad
09.07.23 | Shawshank is good, aside from the cheesy suit-forced ending that drags for way too long. But it does not deserve to be riding the top spot on the top 250 for as long as it has, I really don't get why it's so highly rated on imdb |
Spec
09.07.23 | Detroit Rock City is one of my favourite movies lol. Can’t explain it. |
bellovddd
09.07.23 | 7 and 10 are great. |
Wildcardbitchesss
09.07.23 | Didn’t know Shawshank had that ending, ya that’s much better imo
On the flip side, the alternate ending for American History X is complete dogshit and literally makes the movie a complete waste of time |
Tomstein
09.07.23 | Probably could of added Next Friday and Friday after next since I honestly Like all the Friday movies. |
Wildcardbitchesss
09.07.23 | I think that’s more of a critic thing. Everyone thinks the first Friday is the best but I know plenty of people that like all of them. |
VlacDrac
09.07.23 | Space Jam is based, what are you talking about? |

09.07.23 | John Carpenters The Thing was hated when it first came out. silly buggers. |

09.07.23 | Bill Murray in Space Jam is comedic gold. |

09.07.23 | Rocky 5 is almost as bad as Rocky 4
but seriously how the fuck have they made 9 movies in that fucking franchise. I’ve seen all of them (except the Creed movies) and what a terrible series. One is decent at best, 2 is 1 but worse. In 3 they really lean into the camp so it’s slightly better, 4 is literally just red scare propaganda, Dolph Lundgren is the only decent part. And 5 is just so bad it’s good. Like a car crash you can’t look away from.
Ironically the comeback requel is the best by a decent stretch and the only one I’d call “good” |
fogza
09.07.23 | Ghostbusters 2 is stellar. Personally, I loved the Emmerich Godzilla but I get why people hated it. Man of steel and men in black 2 were ok for what they were. The rest is pretty iffy |
Sinternet
09.07.23 | yeah most of these suck

09.07.23 | Doom was kinda fun, but totally 00s camp
for some reason liked Waterworld, The Postman, and Heaven's Gate |
bellovddd
09.07.23 | waterworld is great. don't know why that gets hate. |
fogza
09.07.23 | The postman was fucking terrible I hated that movie so much |
Tomstein
09.07.23 | Sinternet Well I guess I did a pretty good job at finding some of ones that people had shat on, lol From what I've seen anyway. But it's fun to see the opinions on these films good or bad. Also I liked waterworld too. |
Tomstein
09.07.23 | Also I can't help but love all the Rocky movies as well as the Creed films. The camp is what makes it great. It really makes boxing fun. 3 and 4 is like a video game |
BAT
09.07.23 | aqua teen movie wasn't well received? i saw it in theaters opening night and it was a masterpiece[and holds up better than the new movie].
super mario bros is an interesting banger, highly rec checking out the reconstructed fanedit that dropped a year or so ago. growing up i'd prefer alien resurrection to alien 3 buuut just picked up the anthology boxset soo gonna see if i've matured at all, a:res is better than avp2/maaaybe on par with covenant[both silly movies with great production values]. species 2 > species 1. mk:annihilation is fucking hysterical, really fun mess of 90s nostalgia. likewise i loved spawn as a kid and i've got a definite soft spot for it, the hbo shows obvs better tho. and i'd always watch ghostbusters 2 whenever it was on tv buuut : it's honestly not very funny, lots of interesting stuff with the slime/vigo/etc but just has less snark than the original.
i nominate : jason x, and freddy got fingered. also very fond of the mila jovovich resident evil movies. |

09.07.23 | Quantum of Solace was nigh unwatchable for me |

09.07.23 | - Van Helsing
- Watchmen (2009)
- Alita: Battle Angel
- Jumanji (basically every Robin Williams movie from the 90's got a bad/mixed reception by the critics, but for me they're pretty much all golden)
- Cloud Atlas

09.07.23 | The only good part of QoS is the end scene in the desert |

09.07.23 | Cool list! I'll add Jennifer's Body, which I believe is very underrated.
Alita: Battle Angel and Last Action Hero are genuine masterpieces. |
Wicka4392
09.07.23 | Definitely agree with the first three (the Jurassic Park ones)
For me, X Men 3, Spiderman 3, Van Helsing, The Mummy (Tom Cruise reboot) were all surprisingly watchable |
MeatSalad
09.07.23 | I liked a lot of these when I was a kid but they really don't hold up on rewatching. Particularly loved The Lost World as a kid and I would legit tell people it was better than Jurassic Park
Fr though, the mom's death shriek at the start of the movie transitioning into Jeff Goldblum yawning? Solid fucking gold |

09.07.23 | Alita was fun and the CGI was way better than I thought it would be
Also lmao at Men and Black 2 |
Tomstein
09.07.23 | Alita was awesome haven't seen anyone that really bashed it. I guess maybe hardcore fans of the original manga. Plus you have to give MIB 2 some probs. It's not as bad as International. |
